Did you watch the video?

Gorilla was horny, he has been caged for years (no sexor). The way he was looking at that boy's ass, you know what he was gonna do with it.

Animals can't control their sexual urges like humans can.

Our ancestors have done so much to get to this point where we can cage any weak animals we want and what do you do? you bitch and moan about it.

Would you rather be Gorilla in a cage getting shot by smartest species? If no. then stfu and stop complaining.

Cool observation.

I've noticed that people who are really, really stupid tend not to know that they are stupid.

A gorilla is a high functioning life-form, the closest in DNA to a human. In my eyes that gorillas life is worth just as much as a human's.

Let's break this down:

We capture gorilla, for being a gorilla.
We imprison it for our amusement
We isolate it

Then some kid falls in, gorilla is obviously going over to help the kid, keeping him from drowning (the water was deep enough for a child to drown there, especially a kid that just took a 12 foot fall).

Shoot gorilla

fuk this gay earth dude

We live in a time where it's perfectly normal and acceptable (and praised) for an old man to become an old woman, but it's wrong to shoot a gorilla to save a kid.

Wonder what would have happened to this gorilla? 2 week paid leave?
I think it's more the point of, this was all preventable if only these wankstain parents just watched their fawkin kids, rather than posing for selfies or whatever they were doing.

It is an endangered species that they had to put down, this isn't just our planet, we share with many other species, so pretty ignorant to say a babies life is more important than a gorilla.

Personally I think the parents should of had to deal with it their selves , natural selection at its finest, but then again we live in a very pussified world.

Yea, I'm sure you know more about gorilla behavior than the zoo's own emergency response team. As well as all the primatologists and other wildlife professionals who have already come out and said the boy's life was clearly in danger and that while unfortunate, shooting the animal was necessary.

In fact, they probably should have just called you when his happened and asked what to do.

I mean, you've watched a lot of National Geographic so obviously you're qualified to make those kinds of determinations.

Yeah because you could perfectly read gorilla's mind through that 240p video clip that was posted and you knew what his intentions were?

Looking back at it, anything is preventable.

It sucks the gorilla had to die, but when it comes down to it human life > gorilla life.

Have you ever taken an animals studies course? Nearly all animals have behavioral displays before attacking anything. Even if they are being predatory (killing for sustenance). There was no aggressive body language at all in that video, and gorilla's are not very good at hiding it brah, you're going to know when a gorilla is coming to fuk you up.

They say people with Asperger's can't read body language though, so I don't blame you.

Great point, why don't you watch CTV's interview with Craig Stanford, primatologist and see what he says...

"There's no question the child was in danger..."
"Clearly distressed, agitated, and maybe even in a bit of display mode."
"In the wild, that's what gorillas do when they're agitated... (referring to dragging things)"

Can't find a youtube link but video is all over ********.

But again, I'm sure you know better. You have an internet connection and a keyboard, after all.

And they should have taken a gamble on that kid's life just because the gorilla didn't "show any aggressive body language" ? You can read gorilla's body language when people can't even read people's body language?

I'd assume that those people that work there know more about gorillas than me or some random guy on Misc that has taken animal studies course.

So you must not know you are stupid then because you tend to get quite salty when someone has a dissenting opinion from yours . There was no reason to shoot the gorilla bottom line . The gorilla was going on primal instinct and didn't know any better but the parents did so by your logic the parents should be shot too yes ?

So is the current sentiment right in saying that given the Gorilla reacted aggressively to the child the zoo-keepers unfortunately had no choice other than to kill it as it was the right and safest thing to do and the entire fault lies in with the parents for not monitoring their child properly?

Apparently the kid was 3.

And no, the parents do not have 100% of the blame, though they certainly have some.

A 3 year old should not be able to defeat the security features of a dangerous, wild animal enclosure. That is on the zoo.

Zoo and parents both at fault.. this is not some drive thru safari were the parents let the kid sneak out a car window..

How the **** does a 4 yr old child get into a gorrila pen? Parents are also useless don't get me wrong. As for killing the gorrila before anything happened.. What happens if they try to tranq it gets pissed and kills the kid?

The gorrila still gets killed afterwards but zoo is also responsible for a dead kid.

You think that the gorilla should of been killed and that the zoo was at fault more so than the parents which is fu cking stupid to think because in all the time this zoo was open nothing like this has happened *so far as we know* so the zoo had no reason to think the exhibit wasn't secure . You haven't rebutted anything because you just keep saying the same thing with condescending tones because you think you are some how smarter than everyone here when something tells me you aren't . I guess we just have to agree to disagree because I am tired of going around in circles .

You do realize gorillas can literally tear a grown man's limbs off one by one, right? No matter what the gorilla's intentions were, the kid was in extreme danger. It could have killed the kid simply by accident. How would you have gone about safely removing the kid? Any method of capturing it could have sent it into a rage.
