The clip cut out the part where he dragged the child by his feet across the enclosure while running, the kid has a concussion

- Intended to protect the child, or the thing that the gorilla was "not allowed to have" since it's known that gorillas in zoos try to hide things they're not allowed to have
- Was not gentle, even if it meant to be, could've easily have killed the child
- Was the parents fault 100%, there are pictures of the parents floating around if you're into that

Havent read all 17 pages but this pretty much sums it up.

Yes the mom's a phuckwit
Yes the dad's a phuckwit
Yes its horrible that this amazing animal had to die
But...none of this was the childs fault and his life was in danger. If they had waited a few minutes, nobody knows for certain what might have happned. The animal had to be killed, sad as it is.

Wait wait , did they shoot the animal in order to save the child ? Like they couldn't rescue him so the only option was to kill the animal in order to safely get the child ?

tranqualizer darts not even once?

They have those tranqs that will put an elephant down in 2 seconds.

There is a reasonable expectation that a zoo with so many visitors and such dangerous animals would have fail-safe guards against a little fukking kid getting past a barrier. If anyone says the zoo is 0% at fault, they are WRONG.

inb4 dumb fuk miscers with no reading comprehension plus knee-jerk reactionists misonstrue my post to say that parents should not have to keep their sight on their kids at all times at a zoo

Perhaps indication of how extremely tough these things are? Surely the zoo would have considered a non lethal option first ya fukwit.

Key word is in 2 sec not instantly. Who know what would happen in that 2 seconds. But i really sorry for gorilla, he look just frendly in that video.

I'm sure if they had tranquilizers that were that effective, they would have used them. I hardly think you know better than the actual experts who are all saying shooting the gorilla was the right call.

No, they don't. The zoo said it would take multiple minutes, and possibly even agitate the animal more before it went down/

They should have put on their thinking caps and realized a kid could easily crawl through the barrier.

How are people still arguing this 10 pages later. Kiknskreem has explained this as factually as possible and people going full retard.

1) 3 year old kid should NOT be able to get into a gorilla exhibit.
2) Mom should keep better tabs on child.
3) Once kid fell in, there weren't other options w/o risking the child's life. Tranqs are not viable w/ a child next to a gorilla.

It's terribly sad situation that should have prevented by a combination of better parenting and a more pro-active zoo. However, the right decision, and frankly the only decision was made once the kid fell in.

I don't have kids, but a lot of friends and family do and I'll tell you, you take your eyes off them for 3 seconds and before you know it they're doing some stupid/dangerous sh*t.

It's the parent's responsibility to make sure their child can't get the gun just like it was the parent's responsibility here to keep an eye on their child in a public location but based on what is known about the parents I am not surprised they were not paying attention . But really in the end what does it matter ? What is done is done and there is no point belaboring this .

To an extent but in this case it was more the parents responsibility because like I said , there is no way the zoo could of seen this happening and they must of thought their security measures were sound .

Really, did the 3 year old do some Mission Impossible/Ocean's 11 moves to break into this enclosure?

No, he climbed right in. Obviously a more careful analysis of the security barrier would have revealed that this was possible.

Wait so let me get this straight..

the gorilla was in its home ( cage )...

and intruder came in to its home.....

the resident of the house (gorilla) was the suspect

the boy (intruder) was the victim.

Authorities shoot the (homeowner) gorilla.

sense this makes

none

In 4 misc saying kid should have been shot.

This isn't like the last one of these I saw in here where the dumbass tried to commit suicide by jumping in the lions (tigers?) den. This was a kid who accidentally fell in. Of course you have to shoot the gorilla.

Unfortunate obviously, but wtf is wrong with you *******s?

My opinion it's the zoo's responsibility to keep the animals in. It's up to the humans to stay out. The child didn't just walk into the enclosure. He deliberately went looking for an opening and fell in. It was not just a hop down but over a 10 ft drop. Most 3 yr olds would not jump from that height.

Yes, you protect the kid over the life of the gorilla but it's still indirectly the mother's fault.
