Because you are not attractive to them, you are not a chad, having muscles doesn't make you a chad. You absolutely must have facial aesthetics and height. Since you are 5,9" and covering your face I assume your face is either bad or average. Almost every "friend" my ex had made a move on me, even in front of her sometimes. Only a few didn't and they seemed like decent girls. Some have egos so big they think you will just cheat if they flirt.

The worst is when your partner doesnt notice when they are being manipulated by girls or picks up on what it really is: jealousy.

Trying to warn the GF usually causes awkwardness because it puts her in a weird position to try to choose you over her friends and somehow its not the friends fault for hating, its yours for trying to control her.

And of course thats the friends secret agenda all along - to cause problems one way or another.

Its like, just say no to your friend, for me.

Not so. I have facial aesthetics on par with my body. I get asked for photos on nights out by randoms, blowjob offers yelled on the street etc. Face is not an issue.

Her friends are not tall. I've heard them gush over X guy or Y guy but never actually over someone's height unless to disparage him as lanky.

Having worked in a 99% women environment, I'd say this applies anywhere in a modern society,not only in western context. They are highly competitive, at least in my context. Moreover, I also found out most of the women will not let you go easily if you pissed them off,even if you have helped them a lot in the past. They don't forgive easily. For safety measure, don't ever share things that you do not want others to know, in spite of them being extra motherly or friendly.

From my conversation with the person, I found out that he has been very competitive most of their life and has problem accepting anything that is less.
Personally, I find myself have been substituting my competitiveness in areas that don't hurt others.
