Focus on preventing crimes instead of simply punishing. Murder should be punished by death penalty, but for real there needs to be more institutions in the country focused on helping people with the mental state that would lead them to a crime like murder.

Focus on improving schools/education in impoverished/crime ridden neighborhoods, or taking those kids to schools in better areas.

additionally, more parent involvement is needed. parents nowadays are not involved with their children since they are too busy trying to earn a living. parents and children need to be accountable. too many parents try to put the blame on someone else when it's their child who was in the wrong

lastly, more family planning. if a person can barely provide for themselves, why are they making babies? this goes back to accountability.... kids need to prioritize their education and livelihood vice the yolo lifestyle, party and sex.
This.

Get rid of the "it's not my business" attitude and things will improve. The majority of crime occurs in the neighborhood where the criminal lives. If communities took an interest in each other there would be less opportunity.

We need to actually take crime statistics seriously, and remove the groups that commit disproportionately high amounts of crime from the country.

It's all about poverty. Reduce poverty = reduce crime.

Not sure exactly how to do all that, but you could start by making birth control super easy to get, like hand it out for free on the streets easy. Also change the laws so we don't encourage welfare babies (a.k.a. people having babies just to get more money from the gubment).

I believe an overhaul of the public school system would work wonders. I think teachers should have more power over their classrooms, and I believe faculty should have motivational training. So many people don't believe they will amount to anything, usually due to bad parenting, but I believe great teachers can help balance this out.

Thoughts?

Legalize drugs. The war on drugs is a joke and irrational. Victimless crimes shouldn't be crimes. Adults should be able to put whatever they want into their bodies.
Help eliminate poverty, As in lower the number of those in poverty

Make education more affordable like the rest of the world

And we need to majorly do something about how state money is dispurse to public schools.

Common core isn't a bad thing if we set the standard high.

Obviously we have things we can and should learn from the rest of the modern world since they kick our asses in almost every field besides military power.

Over federal cash incentives for certain groups of people esp those with a medical predisposition to pass on certain medical problems to their children, mainly poor people, etc, to get fixed. The operation would be paid for by the government and they'd receive a cash payment for doing society a favor.

And to the dudes who say that a vesectomy is too permanent, well If u can't afford the 6k to reverse a vesectomy then you shouldn't be having kids. I could understand the argument of saying instead of tying women's tubes just give them the bar which last what... 2-3 years a pop?

Well, I should also add in there that prison needs to be revamped entirely. People shouldn't be getting raped and killed in prison where we (allegedly) have total control of behavior. It's lost almost 100% of its rehabilitative value.

But there needs to be a tiered prison system for violent offenders. I hate to say "life in prison" but we have to do something to remove violent offenders from society and/or rehabilitate them into being nonviolent. Forcible rape, child molestation, assault/battery involving knife/gun, robbery/burglary where a weapon was used, etc. are things that should keep you out of society because we already have behavior demonstrative of inability to live safely with others.

Difficult to choose a good answer.

There are some things that are just counter to any progression

-why don't people care about their neighborhoods? The I Love New York slogan was invented in the 70s for a good reason. When people are proud of their city and their home, they treat it well. When there is trash all over the place, broken windows. How can someone be proud of where they are from?

-why is education and doing well in school not valued? Instead, being a famous athlete or music performer is the goal for adolescents, not stem. Kids who perform well are quickly shut down by their peers.

-why is it glorified to have illegitimate children, and even more so with multiple different women. This gives you status, for whatever reason... the cycle goes on.

-why are violent crimes the retaliation for theft < $100, insulting remarks, perceived slights?

Even if you had billions and billions of dollars where would it even go to fix these issues? Change has to come from within the communities themselves.

Planned parenthood passes out birth control. Most insurance pays for birth control for females too. People are just lazy and lower income want the check a kid brings either in child support or government checks. Liberals say it's ok to have as many kids as you want. Make it a social stigma again and less will occur.

At the 2010 Census, the racial composition of the states population was:

93.2% of the population was non-Hispanic White
3.4% non-Hispanic Black or African American
0.2% non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native
0.7% non-Hispanic Asian American
0.1% from some other race (non-Hispanic)
1.3% Multiracial American (non-Hispanic).
In the same year, 1.2% of West Virginia's population was of Hispanic, Latino, or Spanish origin (they may be of any race).

society is totally and completely fuked

so many kids born out of wedlock and feminists will defend single motherhood til the death even with the facts right in their face. its just a vicious cycle. two 20 year olds born out of wedlock end up meeting each other and making a baby then the "baby daddy" dips out 3 months after birth and the "baby mama" files a child support lawsuit at the local courthouse. fast forward 1 year, the dads working dead end jobs, getting government assistance, getting high/drunk all the time with his friends as if he's in high school and has no responsibilities but he does have responsibilities he's got a kid but he doesn't help raise it and the mom is living off of government assistance and child support payments and maybe a part time/minimum wage job and she's an absentee parent going out to the club with her friends as if she has no responsibilities but she does have responsibilities she's got a kid. and some distant relative ends up watching the kid half the time with a bottle of malt liquor and daytime television, not giving the kid any attention because he's too busy ranting about oppression and guess what HE TOO IS GETTING WELFARE... by the time that kid is 12 he's drinking & smoking habitually and by the time he's 20 he's got a kid of his own with no education, no skills and no way to support it... and aside from that, he doesn't even want to support it... he just wants to spend his free time getting intoxicated and making another baby with another unwed woman who is not prepared to be a parent

and if you think middle class, two parent families are any better then just wait until you hear my rant about that, becuase i am telling you right now there's plenty of depravity, filth, bad parenting techniques and poor lifestyle choices among married, middle class parents

EDIT: but yeah i understand that not all single moms end up being bad parents and some people from such backgrounds end up turning out pretty decent... there's more factors than just single parenthood... attitude and lifestyle is a big factor so yeah but there IS a strong correlation between single parenthood and poor lifestyle choices/bad attitude/bad habits

White areas are extremely safe; statistically as safe as any european country. The "violent crime" problem is mostly a black and hispanic issue, so those groups should deal with it themselves. (srs)

As a whole, crime rates are SIGNIFICANTLY lower than they were in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Many people attribute this to abortion becoming legal (less unwanted kids) and the increase in technology (less bored teenagers looking to cause trouble).

In Chicago, there's been a lot of press about a higher rate of killing this year. The huge majority of it is located in a small region, where there is high levels of poverty, gang affiliation, and drug trade. So, if we could do something to help this area, it would go a long way.
