Not even in Scorsese's top 5 films. I would put Goodfellas, Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, King of Comedy and Casino all way ahead of Shutter Island.

Some crackers in here too.

Can't decide on my own order but here are the 5:

Godfather 1&2
Shawshank
American History X
The Usual Suspects

If we're counting G1&2 as one movie then I think The Good, The Bad and The Ugly would be up there.

Honorable mentions:

Unforgiven
Schinder's List
Pulp Fiction
Goodfellas
Seven
Silence of the Lambs

Edit: Shutter Island is a great movie, but not top 5 material IMO.

Agreed, and i'd forgot about King of Comedy, such an underrated/known movie.

And The Departed is also unquestionably better than Shutter Island.

Also Wolf of Wall St and Mean Streets are probably about on par.

Deer Hunter is SOO under-rated. I think I made a thread about it once.

Last Action Hero is not.

Im sorry, is this the Dora the Explorer forums? Because i thought i was in a bodybuilding forum.

Anyway, without further ado:

"The flowers bloom, then wither... The stars shine and one day become extinct. This earth, the sun, the galaxies and even the big universe, someday will be destroyed. Compared with that, the human life is only a blink, just a little time. In that short time - people are born, laugh, cry, fight, are injured, feel joy, sadness, hate someone, love someone. All in just a moment. And then, are embraced by the eternal sleep called death."

Haven't seen the movie, but I've read the book and loved it, has anyone done both? How do they compare? Not sure whether it's worth watching the movie when I've already read the book.

The book explains the ending a bit better. Teddy didnt actuallly comit the crime, he was brainwashed into believing so

That movie fukked me up for 8 months.

Watched it, then tripped on some love sex and drugs and thought I had lost my mind and thought I'd been tripping for a few days and thought that everyone was trying to get me to come back to reality for ages, but it was like 15 seconds lmao.

Took me 8 months to recover lmao.

I've seen each of those movies at least 3 times, back in my pre-chad years in my late teens i'd spend most nights getting high and watching movies, I have seriously seen a chit load of movies, and those are the best 5 (6 incl. Raging Bull) that I could think of right now. I could list some obscure movies that I liked but that wasn't the thread.
