I went from hating cops, to being on their side, to being a military cop, now I'm starting to hate cops again. Mostly because I work with them often and realize how many of them are fukking morons.

That being said, the standards for being hired in the US are EXTREMELY low. No college degree required, no mma experience, no cardio, no strength training, no real weapons handling skills, no intensive training on how to deal with mentally ill people, etc. The entire police academy training program across the US needs to be started from scratch.

Some sort of psychology background, criminal justice background, motor development background should be required in a 2 year program to get into the academy. Basically an AA in how to deal with people with all sorts of different issues. On top of that, strict PT standards during those 2 years with defensive tactics (real defensive tactics, not the absolute **** they teach now) at least 2x a week. Firing 100 rounds and you can graduate and become a cop? Nope, training courses that build upon previous courses during those 2 years as well and if you fail any of them you get 1 retry and then you're out.

Of course that would never fly because half the fat-asses who make it through would fail miserably. Such is life though. I'd rather have 5 police officers in a town that can handle 99% of situations than 10 police officers that can handle 50% of situations.
Don't talk about things you obviously don't know about.

You say you are from California. California has universal standards for the police academy that every academy (and every peace officer) has to follow. By the time you are done in the academy, you basically have an AA (not much, but something). Why do you need MMA experience? They teach you plenty of self defense tactics and arrest and control tactics (about 2x a week over the course of a 6 month academy, as you suggest). There is always a physical conditioning program, there is always training on dealing with the mentally ill. Most academies will have you shoot around 1,000 rounds, with a lot of academies using more than that. There is ALWAYS a psych background check as well. And that's just to enter the training program at the department and be put on a year or training/probation, like you suggest.

It's just impossible to make everything perfect. It's impossible to make sure every officer is a perfect person. They psych test you, look into your background for months, polygraph you, interview you 3-4 times. There is always going to be the human error factor. There cannot be a perfect system. It needs improvement sure, but it's no where near what you suggest.

Obviously not trying to justify this officer's actions and I'm not saying all police officers are perfect or even good people. But there is a system in place and it does work at weeding out more bad apples than a lot of people realize. No system is perfect though and obviously people slip through the cracks.

What blows my mind is that the local authorities thought he did nothing wrong and did not choose to prosecute him. I'm sure this video was seen by them and they felt no crime was committed by the cop. Luckily, the Justice Dept stepped in with their investigation and brought charges against the guy.

It's amazing that people such as yourself can literally make **** up over the internet and expect those of us with average intelligence levels to believe it.

It's not my fault that you want to lie but if you're going to do it in the future, do a better job. I live with cops, I spent the last 3 years working with cops and I'm very familiar with the standards for becoming a cop. Everything you said is basically wrong and you're an idiot if you think the defensive tactics they teach in the academy are anything other than right from the 1970's handbook. Go find the goddamn standards and look at them yourself if you don't believe me. I have a close friend who teaches DT in the academy for the very reason that no one knows what the fck they're doing and he came in to basically save the day with all the local departments. It's mind blowing how little these fat slobs know when they get done with academy. It's also mind blowing hot little PT they do, how little they shoot, how little pretty much everything. I've seen some of these cocksuckers who don't even know the basics of a handgun make it through the academy because the standards are so low. It's a 6 month academy and you don't need to know **** going in. When half of the 6 months is memorizing worthless arrest/radio codes then you know it's a waste. You can look that **** up on your phone but you can't look up signs of mental disorders with certain populations. That is the basis of a psychology study and the people who have the most contact with psych patients (police) have less training than damn near anyone with it.

So if you want to make **** up, do it on your own time and don't come in here and try to convince people of anything other than how goddamn stupid you are. The standards in the US for becoming a cop are a fcking joke. Absolute truth. Deal with it.

Just makes the population hate cops even more. A dude here on the misc just quit the LEO life, find another career boyos. It's only getting worse. Everyone will hate you and you are grouped in with morons like the cop in vid.

If I was this kids family I would hire Dexter to take "care" of this cop.

The TASER stopped the guy's heart within a few seconds.

TASERs have killed thousands of people and should no longer be used.

TASER Corp should be put out of business, should have successfully been sued at least hundreds of time ... but they have mega money from the deadly product and are using some of it to bribe large numbers of legislators, judges, and others to support their product and dismiss lawsuits and legislation.

If you're a cop, realize that everytime you deploy a TASER, you're tempting fate and risk killing a person.

They are being used way way way too often in situations they should not be.They are IN FACT a 'less-lethal' option but are being used as a non-lethal one. They should ONLY be used in situations that are at or getting close to the use of lethal force; only as an alternative to the use of a firearm.

Doesn't justify dropping someone (even faking it) face first onto the concrete. Brb broken teeth, broken jaw, concussion, broken nose, and more.

Kinda. These cases should get more attention. The attention actually shouldn't be on fuking skin colour but on the police forces requirements to become a cop.

Even in Canada I've seen cops punch my friends in the face for making a cheeky comment.

Police should remain calm at all time. "Bbuuuuttt.... they're humans and have a tough job" if you can't handle it, don't be a cop. Simple as that.

lol cops gonna cop.

Why would anyone choose this profession anyways. The only people that choose to become cops after finishing school are the bottom feeding trash who couldn't succeed in academics.
