That is the basis of a psychology study and the people who have the most contact with psych patients (police) have less training than damn near anyone with it.
So if you want to make **** up, do it on your own time and don't come in here and try to convince people of anything other than how goddamn stupid you are. The standards in the US for becoming a cop are a fcking joke. Absolute truth. Deal with it.

This problem is due to the way police officers are trained, they're constantly told to "control the situation" and "be aware of potential threats" and chit like that.
They're not adequately informed on the importance of conflict resolution and deescalation.
All this information is readily available on the internet.
Just look up police training videos and what are they doing? They're doing a bunch of physical, violent stuff and when interviewed they're talking about "control" and "suspect cooperation."
The current law enforcement system, the way its set up, civilians are going to get tazed, beaten and shot. That's the system in America.
And yes, it is a systematic issue, not so much an individual officer issue.
But there are some cops with good attitudes who legitimately prefer to not shoot people.
