Seriously this. How hard is it to not go near the highly acidic water spring?

Yellowstone always wins. Don't mess with the Bison or she'll burn your face off

My favorite story was way back when a couple thought it was a "hot springs" and decided to go for a swim.

Now the sister has to live with the fact that she saw her brother fall into a pool and dissolve into a pile of mush. That's awful.

But come on. The signs I'm sure say something like "stay on path, otherwise you'll melt to death."

Retard deserved it. There are signs all over about danger of deviating from the paths + how it can be harmful to the fauna. Literally too stupid to live.

Sounds like murder to me. Sister must have been after the inheritance she stood to gain with her brother out of the picture. The Flip flops were planted after the fact to make people believe his bad decision making and inadequate footwear were at fault when in reality he was being completely and utterly manipulated to the very end. Truly a frightening plan... semi srs

Every single person that has lived their life in any way has done something stupid in nature where one slip up could have cost them their life. On the misc it's a joke tho that some girls brother dissolved in front of her. Just an excuse to be deranged basement dwellers and laugh at it.

Was it a dumb decision? Yeep. Still sucks and is horrific for the sister. Well and of course him.

I would never make the choice they did at 31. But at 23? Who knows. I did some dumb ****. We all have.

People don't realize when you do stupid **** not only is it dangerous for you, but then you put rescue workers at risk that have to save your ass.

Not to mention the cost to the tax payer.

Never feel sorry when idiots get lost hiking/climbing mountains/at sea.

Play at your own risk not on my tax dollar.

Why hike, climb, or swim when you could be making troll posts on the misc, idiots.

the real story here is that the colonial farmers (and generations thereafter) raped the American continent to the point that the only beautiful areas unraped are those with very dangerous features and economically worthless. Can't graze cattle there because they'll see the water and kill themselves taking a drink. Cant grow food cause soil acidity, etc.

cliffs:

rape the wild places and the only ones left have dangerous characteristics
humans (high and low IQ) go to dangerous areas to see tiny sliver of nature which hasnt been ass-raped by farmers
humans die due to human stupidity + dangerous ****

True brah, we all did stupid chit and had dumb decisions, it's all part of growing up and learning, but come on....this is just on another level of stupid. Honestly, if you are older than 12 and can't see why getting really close to a 200 degree acidic spring is a bad idea, then maybe it's even better for you to die before you put someone else at risk too. No offense, but that's the type of person who drives hammered and then runs over a little kid or something. It is horrible for his sister and family, but they have no one else to blame but his stupid ass. Maybe themselves too for taking such a retard to wilderness, nature is not for the weak.

You are free to do what you want, as long as it's at your own risk, if you get into a predicament, ignore warnings, veer off and "explorer" that is being an idiot.

You're obviously too small minded and that sentiment went past you.

While I won't necessarily disagree with you I did want to add that, despite the popular glamorization of the Native Americans circa the 1400's, America was most likely a heavily managed land even at that time. We like to fantasize that Native Americans lived in harmony with the earth until settlers came and raped it but the reality seems to be that the Natives had already begun that path on their own. The rapid spread of disease wiped out up to 90% of Natives (by some estimates) leaving those remaining an easy target and also making it appear that their lives were more in harmony with nature that was reality.
