On the other side if the kid would of obeyed the law he would of never been in the situation he's in now. Period.


Cops aren't perfect. I don't care if the requirements were upped to have Doctor's degree. You would still see the stuff you're seeing today. Dealing with people on a daily basis and seeing the worse stuff one can possibly see damages your brain. Before a cop dies his brain has been 'fried'. I don't care what anyone says. It will ruin all cops and they view life different. PTSD is very common with police officers, but no one will touch it do to the liability issues.

I understand knowing/exercising your rights and the kid did nothing wrong per se but some cops are just gonna be dickheads and pull this chit so you might as well just comply instead of stir up a bunch of chit. And no what the cop did was definitely messed up, in no way shape or form was that ok to do. It's just a bad situation overall, but it could have turned out differently if the kid just swallowed his pride and did what the cop said.

We civilians need to realize we can take measures to help de-escalate situations involving unruly police officers.

All we have to do is follow their instructions and say "yes sir" "no sir" even if we don't agree with the law and even if we feel like our rights are being violated.

Even if the cop is breaking his department protocol or just outright breaking the law, its not going to help us to be resistant.

Why can't people just chill and be conpliant and polite? cop was being a douchbag from the start but the kid could have avoided all of this if he had just done what was asked of him.

Not condoning the cops actions though, that was fuked up.

The more and more you take on the mentality of "comply even if they are wrong" the more and more power they will have.

Police are not given power, they are given responsibility to uphold the law and enforce it. Not to tase some 120lb kid for 20 seconds and proceed to cuff and drop him face first in the ground.

The only way to fight abuse is with abuse, unfortunately.
