Otherwise, all a person would have to do is keep their knife concealed, walk near you, and get to poking. You wouldn't be able to run since you'd be getting pinned and stabbed, and at that point all you could do is hope that he didn't stab you enough to where you could pull your knife out and hopefully get enough in on him to make him let go.

This convo is frivolous, though. The main thing is that someone's intent is to kill you, and that's all that should be given attention to.

the majority of Americans would welcome gun reform if a middle ground could be reached. Right now it's a long standing fight between those that want a gun ban and those that want zero limitations. There's too much money on both sides for those in power to take a step in any direction. They will not risk their meal ticket. The extremes on either end don't represent the majority they are just the most vocal.

The majority eh? Let me guess, gun owners only need pappies passed down .22 and a shotgun right?

We already have background checks, there is no gun show loophole, bad guys get guns the same way bad people have always done bad things, they DONT follow the law.

The left wants all guns gone, see the evil harlot Hillary clinton. There is no middle ground with liberals.

Funny how decades of gradual "common sense" infringement come to the point where those who believe current restrictions are already well past the point of "common sense" gun laws, are now "extreme"

We've seen middle ground, that's why gun owners are pushing back so hard. Gun grabbers won't stop until they're all gone.

American liberals want to cuck the population the same way the UK/AUS do

You think that "hate speech" laws would work in a country where private citizens are armed? This is why Hillary wants to destroy the Second Amendment: because the First Amendment will be next.

You don't need a gun, knives are just as deadly. This is your argument. Stick with it if you want I guess, but it's a pretty chit one.
You are one hell of an idiot. We are not arguing on which weapon platform is superior for self defense. You claim if he did not have a gun this murder would not have happened.

You don't need a gun to kill people. You don't need a shovel to dig a hole but it sure makes it easier.

My "potato" logic is the most sound form of logic there is. If someone is deranged and has the intention of murdering you, prohibiting them from acquiring a firearm will likely not stop them from making an attempt on your life. And yes we believe in this country that we have "rights" that are not subject to the feelings of retards like you.

Yes a stab wound has the potential for the same level of lethality l as a wound generated from a pistol.

http://www.uphs.upenn.edu/news/news_.../2014/01/band/
A new study from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania has foundno significant differencein adjusted overall survival rates between gunshot and stabbing (so-called penetrating trauma injuries
Penetrating abdominal trauma
Stab wounds are caused by penetration of the abdominal wall by a sharp object. This type of wound generally has a more predictable pattern of organ injury. However, occult injuries can be overlooked, resulting in devastating complications.

In fact the only firearms that actually kills more people than knives each year are pistols. Funny considering everyone on the left wants to ban rifles and not pistols (yet)

I'll wager you have never been in a violent encounter of any kind in your entire life.

Is iteasierto murder someone with a pistol? Probably. Will preventing a murderous lunatic from getting a gun make his intended victim any safer? No.

I wonder why you foreigners get so upset at US gun laws? Does the idea of personal responsibility make you uncomfortable? Do you get uneasy at the idea of having to defend yourself? Do you believe some ******* in a room somewhere should get to decide what and how you can defend your loved ones?

Do knives cost 10k on the black market? What about crowbars? Don't be a baby. Switzerland has high gun ownership and low gun crime. Americas violent crime has more to do with cultural and family problems than anything else.

We can't keep people or drugs out of this country and you think we can ban guns? only thing that will do is disarm the law abiding. Look at Mexico and all the other endless examples of this.

Could it be that Australia is not America? your population is 23 million ours is over 330 million.

The amount of people dying by gun murders is a lot higher than that of hero's saving their own family with a gun they have stored safely away for protection.

It's also horrifying to be in LA during the LA riots when police didn't go in because "too dangerous" and citizens were left alone with hundreds of looters armed with baseball bats and knives. People with big guns stood up to looters and told them No, go away or be shot.

I've contemplated posting twice in this thread but in reality it's a pointless exercise in futility. If people dying in their thousands every year and little children being mass murdered can't change America's view on firearms nothing I say will make the slightest bit of difference.

Yeah. Because disarming those teachers and other victims has worked out SOOOO well so far, we need to disarm MORE people.

In Australia after the gun ban not only other crime but even the GUN CRIME went UP, not down. But yeah, let's ban MORE guns and surely this will work!

.
The level of stupid in this post is ridiculous. OF COURSE the risk of dying with a gun goes up as gun ownership rates increase. Similar to how your risk of drowning goes up if you have a swimming pool in your backyard, and how your risk of dying in a car crash goes up the more you drive. Should we ban all swimming pools or cars?

However, the overall rate of violent crime drops greatly as gun ownership increases. And the vast majority of gun crimes come from illegally purchased firearms. Furthermore, a lot of gun deaths come from gang violence and police killing violent offenders in the process of arresting them.

Thank you for your contribution to this thread, cuck.

Please with the patriot act and your growing police state, the US is less free now than it has been in a long time. But politicians have fooled Americans that as long as they own a gun they are free, why they slowly take away more and more of your rights and all you do is clutch onto your guns and deny what is happening right under your nose.

You are so right. It has nothing to do with that state of minority families in this country. I mean banning guns would solve all the problems right? The black community would just stop killing itself.

Can almost guarantee guns were not allowed at the concert. My sister was telling me how when she goes to the clubs they will always pat down the males before they can enter. All they have to do is give it to there "baby mama" and they will stuff it in the purse, bra, etc and hand it back to them inside. These phuckers simply don't give a **** and here I am checking every door for a 30.06 sign and going through the extensive process of legally concealing a firearm.

LMAO. I am against the Patriot act. It has nothing to do with the debate here.

When you take away guns and the crime rate increases, they bring in more police. THAT is what leads to a police state.

LA riots were a great example of the 2nd in action, such a thing is rare BECAUSE the 2nd is a great deterrent. When everyone is armed people play (relatively) nice. The left see's the lack of such examples as proof we don't need them.

Communist cuckold logic ^^^
You've got me all wrong, I wouldn't support the US having UK or Aussie style laws at all. The US is far too violent and divided and country for it to adopt such laws.

Also stop using the term "Gun Ban", pro gun supporters love using that inaccurate term. Guns are not banned in the UK or Australia they are simply restricted to those with legitimate purposes such as farmers, hunters etc.

The US gun laws at the moment are a joke. The straw purchase laws alone beggar belief. Simply fixing that, having a proper gun registry and better co-operation between government bodies to ensure criminals and the mentally ill don't obtain firearms would be sufficient. I have no problem with Americans owning guns for recreational purposes or protection but I do have a problem with you having gun laws which are simply not fit for purpose.

Also crime did not rise in Australia after than ban and while there was a spike in gun crime in 2015 it was still far lower than pre-ban figures. Don't swallow the gun lobbyist's snake oil. Nobody wants an outright ban in the US and if anyone does they are an idiot, no civilised country has an outright ban, they just want laws fit for purpose.

Grow some balls bro.
This is a prime example of why I wouldn't support UK or Aussie style laws in the US. Us is far too violent and far too divided a country unlike the UK and Australia. The US laws need to reflect their society simply copying another countries laws could lead to a situation just as bad if not worse than the current situation.

Nonsense .UK has far MORE violent crime than US. And crime went UP after gun restrictions, not down.

Australia crime of all kinds went UP and is WORSE than in US after their gun ban.

UK is an embarrassment when it comes to crime, even before the gun bans.

Armed society is a polite society.

Calling US a violent country as compared to UK and Australia is incorrect. UK is far worse than US when it comes to violent crime.

Defending yourself is not a legitimate purpose???

Who gets to decide who is mentally unstable? Mentally unstable war mongering murderous governments do?

You're wrong about your stats. Crime, including gun crime went UP after the gun ban in Australia. There are still mass shootings as well, AND whatever drops in crime have been observed those drops have also taken place BEFORE THE BAN, thus a drop in crime is NOT because of the gun ban. A drop was happening before the ban as well.

Progressivism... Such a beautiful thing
This 100% and repped.

We already have tons of regulations when it comes to gun ownership. We have also seen ownership go up and crime go down. But guess what....out of the almost 400 million people in this country there are some that want to do bad things. No matter how many laws you pass that will always be the case. As a general rule of thumb the needle only ever moves in one direction, so obviously people are going to push back against laws that make it more difficult for law abiding citizens to own a gun, because they know once that law passes it won't be long before the next one is on the plate.

To the posters who seem to have a problem with the status quo in America yet aren't American, why does it concern you?

Just stay out of the US -- find another place to visit on your holiday/vacation and advise your friends, acquaintances and family to do the same. Problem solved.
