Military inspired clothing (some items from Express, Superdry, Banana Republic, Diesel, RL Denim Supply, etc)
slightly scruffy facial hair, but trimmed/cleaned up regularly
long hair on top, but sides cut very short
wax/pomade creating messy hair look

I was with you until this. Rugged is supposed to look natural. There is nothing natural looking about this currently trendy hairstyle. It looks good on some people, but not rugged.
