My take is that if you're not getting enough attention from a male, you then go and seek it from females instead. Then you post about it and get even more attention.

Sounds a lot like a girl I dated for a while, she was "bi" but turned out to be lesbian in denial somewhat. alot of things made sense after she realized she wasn't into men for herself, we still friends and chill.

Examples? Thousands of attention seeking threads on the misc is one example of attention seeking males. Attention seeking things men do daily from certain clothing / hairstyles, to acting out in public, to bullying, etc.

Or if you're specifically talking about the bisexual thing, there's obviously bisexual men. IMO there's a difference in that most are actually gay but trying to either hide it by being with a woman or convince themselves or others and are confused on their sexuality rather than doing it for attention although it probably happens too.

When I was younger, I had a circle of friends including women who would sometimes feign being bisexual specifically for attention at clubs etc. Fast forward 20 years and every one of them is straight and living a traditional family life. They were just attention whores when they were younger.

I don't know any guys that did that when they were younger that turned out straight. I knew some that did date women though but ended up just coming out and being gay years later.

As someone else mentioned, you don't see old bisexuals. You do see old gays and old straights because they figure out what they are over time.
