so many things wrong..

1: no swimming sign..

1a: Is that even necessary?
1b: would that sign have stopped a 2 year old?

2: euthanized 4 alligators to look for the kid

2a: lol @ euthanized.. PC strikes again thinking nobody will notice
2b: so these people seriously think the alligators just dragged the kid into water and DIDN'T eat him? lets be real tea, that kid was a snack.
2c: Four badass creatures are killed to save the life of some possibly inbred 2 year old potato that will likely grow up and not amount to **** if intelligence is at all hereditary.

3: dunno if they specified how the kid got in there.. says the dad jumped in immediately after, so it should be a place easily accessible by the public.. why would you let the public (esp potato american public who cant stop getting their kids killed/eaten/falling into animal pits, amongst a whole encyclopedia of other retarded sh*t people here do) have easy access to FOUR MOTHERF*CKING ALLIGATORS!

and if thats not the case, then was the dad watching while the kid was playing in the alligator pit, and then surprised when the alligator came to eat him?

No wonder people don't know waters in Florida are infested with gators if they can't even differentiate a alligator and crocodile.... So many people in this topic who keep calling it a Croc wtf

The divers that found the body have some massive balls...I go night diving and when something big bumps into you at night it just about makes you shiat your wet suit. I would not be happy going to look for a body in an area that is populated by an aggressive gator..

People have unrealistic expectations and a cartoon-ish view of what is capable. Disney will put out more warning signage but they cant really be held accountable. Disney will end up writing a check but simply because they are Disney. They protect their image at all cost even if that means paying up when they arent responsible.

I've been to Disney two times in the last three years with my family. We stayed on the water and took the boats to Disney and the other resorts everyday. The lake is so big it can support massive boats that carry hundreds of people. The boats can take a good 15 minutes to get from one end of the lake to the other. The lake is lined by swamp and marsh on two sides and it has half a dozen islands in the lake.

Disney has "Police" that constantly patrol the waters looking for people swimming, rental boats that are reckless and gators. There is absolutely zero chance they are keeping gators out of that lake, however.



The lake is so big it can support multiple of these types of boats running around....

Can confirm boats are the GOAT way to get around if you are down there. Might take an extra 10 minutes, but saves you from the whale hoards on the buses. I always assumed there were gators in the water. Fukin awesome ride back to your hotel from DTD after a few beers and a cool captain. I'm pretty sure multiple captains told us there were gators in the water IIRC.

This. Yes, it is irresponsible to leave a 2 year old in the water at night by himself. Is it fair to think that the kid would get eaten by an alligator? Of course not. I dont think many people would want the parents taken up on criminal charges. In any other situation the parents actions may be briefly frowned upon, they ran into a really, really shytty situation with horrible luck.

And thats the problem--from there it went quickly to blaming Disney, to saying there werent alligator signs, to saying this and that, etc, just blaming everyone BUT the parents.

In reality, yes the parents should feel horrible for dropping their guard, but I dont think we can fault them. At the same time, it is NOT Disney or any companies responsibility to warn people of every small chance of something bad going wrong in any way. If a ****ing vulture swoops out of the air and swoops up your infant out of a stroller, it is not disneys fault nor is it bad parenting.

Sometimes shyt just happens and we have to accept that some people may die and theres not necessarily someone to always blame.

they'd grab them and immediate start doing death rolls absolutely devouring the catch

guess gators are pretty different
the death rolls are only really to disorient/break the preys neck, they arent actually trying to take bites of meat when they do that
