Right, and he killed 32, if I recall correctly. If he had a mass of people all in one place he would have been even more effective.

Again, a Glock handgun fires at the same rate as an AR15 or any comparable weapon.

The Orlando shooter used a semiautomatic rifle... which doesn't fire any faster than any semiautomatic handgun.

Don't need what, a semiautomatic rifle?

That's like saying you don't need a handgun because you could potentially defend yourself with a sharp stick.

all you're doing is proving that even lower level guns can cause mass destruction. It's worse than I thought before this thread.

I'm willing to say that everyone should be allowed a basic hand gun but if you're saying people can just as easily get slaughtered with that well fuk

The only guaranteed stop is a CNS hit, doesn't matter the caliber. .223 terminal ballistics are far superior to .45 or any other service handgun caliber.

If you're more comfortable and famliar with a handgun, by all means use a handgun, but I think you need to do some research on wound ballistics.

Again, using a handgun actually puts others in danger in many instances.

Much harder to shoot accurately and more likely to exit your home and kill a neighbor, or someone else in your own house.

Guns are very powerful and to give an idiot that much power is beyond me. I don't believe banning any type of firearm will solve the problem nor do I feel like its a political issue. When some young kid on the street can take away a life with the pull of a trigger based off of an emotion response, its scary. And yes, I'm aware 99% of rebuttals will be phrased as "If people want to kill, they don't need a gun" which is an accurate statement yet undermines the seriousness of the issue of gun violence. To be honest, I don't believe there is much we can do at this point without either infringing on others rights or creating a market scarcity among a multi-million dollar domestic industry.

Define a "basic handgun". Most handguns are semi-automatic now, a semi-automatic firearm. Rate of fire is the same. They even make handgun magazines that can rival the capacity of semi-automatic rifles.

There are inherent advantages a rifle has over a pistol. Recoil and accuracy being the biggest. It's also easier to wield with a standard 30rd mag than a glock with a 33rd mag.

I mean, are you talking SA cowboy revolvers like in the civil war or wild west? We moved on from them. We in the 21 century now.

Not voting for neither.

Like our votes actually matter at all brah.

The person that will win is the one the corporations/businesses/wealthy cronies are able to buy.
That one always wins.

The elections are a joke.

Every single voter that ever votes can wipe his behind with that voting slip, because its all that is worth.

Rifle Homicides: 248
One firearm homicide for every 39,254 U.S citizens, and only 1/33 (3%) involved a rifle.

So in the 10 years since AR15's became widely available and prolifically owned, while the U.S. population increased by 9%:
- Total # of firearm homicides have decreased
- Total # of rifle homicides have decreased
- Firearm homicide rates have decreased
- Rifle homicide rates have decreased

So your strategy for risk mitigation is to go after the one weapon that is used in the least amount of firearm homicides, at the lowest rate, and at a rate that is continuing to drop?

Not true in the least IMO. Most mass shootings are done with machine guns. Rich white people just like to pretend like the rest of the world doesn't exist.
