Hmm, I guess you could say it's more the way I think than anything else. I'll take a full look at concepts and arrange them into a system of algorithms/relationships and then spend time figuring out how to abstract all of that down as well. I learn, and the more I learn, the better I can learn. The downside is that it's hard to talk to the average person about macroeconomic fallacies and the complexity of the universe.

But I am going to rebuild new legs and arms etc so I can pose him properly , plus I have to do the battle damage and add the exoskeleton arm like in the movies. Will be animating his damaged arm also with high TQ geared servos , and maybe have him turn a bit at the waste . Thought it would be freaky to have him move around at random via timers . Took a while to get used to having Arnold standing in my living room lol

Definitely nerdy, but It's a "bada5s" nerdy hobby. I've always mired hard at people who can build **** from scratch.

I'm about to start working on an R2-D2, I'm still investigating on some of the materials and way to tackle the project. Hopefully I can finish it within a year and a half.

If you guys are going through all of that trouble to build statues/models, I hope you're at least putting some diy electronics in there to make it nice.

Martial arts.

srs

It may look cool but tons of people during practice spouting DBZ lingo, or wearing anime shirts.

More than half are super nerdy bruce lee wannabes.

I too was one at one point.

Got back into lego after I had children, got my wife into them as well and we've been working on a pretty big project (similar to the one in the lego movie dude has in his basement) but I go off and buy star wars and medieval and superhero (just dc no marvel) chit that doesn't even fit with our project and she just bert stares me.

Use the medieval knights and chit to play with my older daughter and her disney princesses lego, and we set up fortifications and sieges in between tea time and royal balls.

Also, daughter got into barbie dolls and the ken doll is absolute chit so I started getting those old max steel circa 2000 to play with her, which is nice cause he's super articulate and jacked and when I explain why he's such a better male doll than ken my wife again just bert stares, lol.

-i'm a huge fan of batman. not your only knows stuff from movies fan. and I finished rewatching the GOAT cartoon, Batman the animated series, late last year in my underwear with my bowl of cereal just like I was 6 years old again. then watch superman TAS and batman beyond, as well as young justice. this love has actually made me decide to try cosplaying as batman, and me and the GF have been making the whole thing by hand srs. lost track of how much i've spent but whole thing will prob cost be about 400.

-i love medieval fantasy stuff like LOTR, GoT, i loved redwall as a kid and even had the novels (reps if you know what that is) and have just tried to start playing magic.

- i've seen more cop tv shows than i'd like to admit

-gf competes in bodybuilding in the bikini division, this has motivated me to compete in a small natty mens physique comp in november (inb4 stats)

-i love playing sports and wrestling video games just to create players that aren't in the game and simulating to see how they do, and doing lots of fantasy drafts just building different teams. i'll go and buy super old games just to play with young super low rated versions of now all stars.

Holy **** lol. I played that **** when I was a kid like 12 years ago wow. I still have all my cards somewhere back home I think

Most embarrassing hobby for me is probably video games. I used to be really nerdy and into it back when I was a teenager but after age 17 or so when I started lifting and working and doing other **** outside the house, it declined. I still play them but no where near as much or in depth.

Also, photography. I like to take really artsy/hipster esque photos. Especially nature and urban type of photos.
Yeah man, its gotten way better IMO. Its easier to summon multiple high level monsters and rek ****

Gardening (girlfriend got me into this and its really cool to see the progress and grow your own food)
My tournament record is weird. First time i finish around the middle, second time i placed in the top 4, third time i won, fourth time i was almost last haha

Just gotta believe in the heart of the cards.

I am a big Rome fan as well.

Which leads me to probably the most important question of your life: Have you watched HBO's Rome? I consider it the best (non animated) tv series ever bar none.

stop right there. It's more saturated than trying to get a STEM degree. 30 million people with the same goal and they all play 8+ hours every day. A lot of them give up a ton of stuff and get nothing. So yeah, it's not a field for you or anyone else that is new to gaming as of now.

edit: 30 million figure is how many active players there are on LoL, and a ton of those guys also play CS:GO competitively, not to mention the daily 200k active on CSGO which is 200k competitive players vs 30 million composed of mostly casuals (though they still are competitive)
Eh, I consider myself pretty good and able to pick up new FPS's and learn them quickly have played alongside and against "top" ranked players in their respective games before, I hear what you are saying, but the competitor in me just kind of salivates at the mouth when I read this. I love competition/sport and the opportunity to win some money. And I am a teamwork guy, not a kill # stat padder. I think I would do well if I had a solid team.

Probably the only potentially embarrassing thing I'm into is WWE, but it's not really bad anymore to admit that. I get the feeling that it's starting to be kind of cool again, in a niche, geek culture sort of way. I see a lot of people talking about it on my friend list and a lot of people watching it that I never knew watched.

Yes there will be electronics . I have computer stamps that can do PWM to run servos and act as timers etc . Would like the eye to light up randomly and have motion in the endo arm once it's built . Was going to have him turn a bit at the waist also .
Here's what he's going to look like once finished

This is a 1/6th scale to give you an idea . I have the airsoft grenade launcher that looks exactly like the real one and the bandolier . Just need the knee and shells to complete my list of parts

That's how it goes man, it's a little skill and a lot of luck. This format is also very weird, I'm not a huge fan which is why I play online rather than investing in the cards.

My "dorky" hobby would probably be that I am a horror movie aficionado and theme my house to classic thrillers (American Psycho/living room) Monsters (Dracula/Wolfman/Frankenstein/Mummy/Sea Creature/etc), Classics (Jaws - Bathroom) Serial Killers/True Crime (my bedroom) and even have a guest room themed for G.I.Joe's Baroness with original art and framed action figures which cracks me up every time I go into it.

Here's my Dracula/Monsters themed Bar/Art Studio...

I do graphic design and photography so I like to also theme my shoots around it occasionally...

Had a sick deck in 8th grade. I think over 50% of the cards in my deck would be banned from play these days though. They made cards too good in the early years, and had to ban them so you would buy more cards. Cucks.

I am an adult that likes pro wrestling. I used to hide it but now I really don't give a crap to be honest and I am really open about it. I don't watch WWE anymore except the old WWF & WCW stuff. Only watch things like TNA Impact and Lucha Underground for current stuff.

I also collect Sega Genesis games....apparently that isn't really nerdy people actually think it's kind of neat because they nostalgia hard. I usually only play them like once a month and when I am pregaming with someone before drinking somewhere.

Also really into exploitation movies and most 60s-80s movies in general.

You're also into horror films? Man, I am a HUUUUGE horror film aficionado. Love them all from the silent era (Nosferatu etc), through to 60s obscure (Carnival of Souls), through to slasher (Halloween), through to the modern period (Conjuring etc).

Dunno if embarrassing but definitely nerdy..

I love music and I like downloading the newest shyt of anything and sorting it out in playlists with coverarts and all on my iTunes library. I probably have more than 10,000 songs on it. I would probably legit die if my laptop is stolen

Dang - I forgot Flight Sim'ing on the PC.

Getting really into learning all the details about navigation, using VORs, making Flight Plans, etc. I watch a ton of Youtube videos of both real and flight sim flights, mostly tutorials on how to use the Nav equipment. Been reading this book to learn, it's awesome:
