the majority of evidence suggests that men have a higher PAIN THRESHOLD, while it isn't very well shown if men or women have a higher PAIN TOLERANCE

pain tolerance - the amount of time that one can tolerate pain

women usually have more nerves capable of feeling pain (aka they have the capacity to feel more pain than men)
