You know how many measurements that satellite is taking per second and reporting back to space station reporting back to earf?

You realize with math we can plot courses farther than that within a 98% success? As in we map the speed of rocks, planets, and everything else and figure out path of least resistance.

Do they really pull these kind of operations off with pre calculated and programmed inputs and no adjustments on the fly?

I'd imagine there'd be too many unpredictable variables. A slight variation in the wind during launch that throws the trajectory off by half a degree would make the satellite end up no where near that 100 meter margin of error for orbiting.

I took physics during my undergrad and we did a few problems on how to launch satellites into orbit, SRS. It's really not THAT complicated, it just takes careful calculations with a high degree of certainty. Conceptually it makes sense. You ever take physics?

Don't ask me how it works now though, that was like 4 years ago.
