The smart thing that could/should happen is for Obama to give a speech:

"if everyone stopped resisting arrest, there would be many less police shootings"

"we should all obey the law, not fight it"

The fact is on many levels the whole cops attacking profiling black people is a mistake.

1) Cops target criminals
2) A majority of criminals happen to be blacks because of lack of education from slavery
3) Cops DO NOT target blacks

Cops target thugs and criminals, not races. Just so happens that many of the thugs are also a certain race.

So a paranoia exists but its not science. The culture has low IQ so they cant really see the difference.

But the difference is there.

Black leaders should emphasize to not resist arrest, and to say that law abiding citizens OF ANY RACE don't have problems with police.

Explain crime and punishment to people, reinforce the idea of not breaking the law.

Anything less than that and its a symbolic justification of said paranoia.

Even if obama and beyonce doesnt flat out support crazy people, in a roundabout way of NOT encouraging peace and to obey the law, they are confirming the illogical/emotional paranoia of mentally unstable people.

The black people who are most at risk of police brutality would actually look at black miscers and see them as soft white wannabe uncle toms and would be more likely gun them down than a cop ever would lmao

Bullsh*t. You can take a Rhodes Scholar, doctorate degree carrying black male driving a Mercedes through a predominantly white neighborhood and his chances of getting pulled over are incredible.

Lol, me and my family have already experienced "heavy handed treatment" by police. None of us are criminals, none of us look like thugs, all of us work our ass off for a better future. Every black person, scratch that, every person is at risk for police brutality regardless of how they look. Police have certain quotas to fill everyday in inner cities so they have to legit go around and **** with people until they find something wrong, and what race lives in the inner city?

Everyone's a philosopher on FB today:

"Ok, I don't usually do this ... But quick rant since everytime something like this happens, I see the same outcome on social media.....

It's not about being pro black lives matter OR pro police....People assume if you are for one thing, you are against the other. Why can't you support both. Not every black person is a criminal and not every cop abuses their badge. An innocent cop being killed is just as bad as an innocent civilian being killed by a cop. You don't solve murder with murder.

Being divided is destroying this country...."

"PSA: Easy way not to escalate any situation with police that could potentially turn deadly... Inform them you are carrying a fire arm when stopped or detained for everyone's safety even if you have a licence to carry. Do not reach for that fire arm or resist any form of being arrested or detained. Listen to instructions and comply. Being polite also can ensure that a situation will not escalate. Follow these instructions when dealing with Authority figures in your community and there is a very high chance you will walk away unharmed. 99% of the videos I have seen that are claimed to be brutality have been the ones not complying, listening, and or resisting while dealing with the police, which is a crime in itself. This is the police you are dealing with, not your older brother telling you to put your hands behind your back. You have to listen or there is a risk the situation can escalate."

"I'm tired of people complaining about what the world has come to..reality is... The world has always been ****ed up but no one really noticed it because of social media. World history speaks for itself. There will always be ignorance in this world and there will always be people who don't value other people's lives. Ranting and complaining about it on fb does nothing but divide everyone else because the fact is everyone will have their own opinion on any case. The best we can do is what our parents did and what their parents did before them... Is raise kids that are open minded that valued everyone's lives because the only fact and statistic I know is that all lives matter! "

"It's a sad sad day/month/years when all that floods the media is violence and turmoil. I urge my friends and family to be observant and if God forbid you're in a situation with police, just keep your hands in plain sight. Don't move until you are told to. It's not worth losing your life for. I'm very sad and I send my heart out to those people who lost their lives, both black and blue. We are AMERICANS! Start acting like it and come together"

A black person with LOWER QUALIFICATIONS should NEVER be chosen over a white person with HIGHER qualifications, just because he is black.

Friday morning during a press conference, Dallas Police Chief David Brown said:

The suspect said he was upset about Black Lives Matter. He said he was upset about the recent police shootings. He was upset at white people. He wanted to kill white people, especially white officers.

The suspect stated that we will eventually find the IEDs. The suspect stated he was not affiliated within groups and he stated that he did this alone. The suspect said other things that are part of this investigation so that we can make sure that everyone associated with this tragic event is brought to justice.

Shooter was a black man and was part of the army reserve. His name is Micah Xavier Johnson. But the media is making his name out to Be Micha X to stir up more controversy.
Said he did this alone and was part of no group.

Yet people keep that myth around in their soul and its a case of the past projecting onto the present.

In many threads like these before I remember even on misc black brahs coming on and quoting how they never have trouble with cops.

In fact cops and all people LOVE white washed type black people who are different from the cliche and treat them like mini celebrities.

Not to mention many cops are black themselves.

Any even if the phenomenon is true to a minor extent, its because blacks commit a disproportionate amount of crimes, so that stereotype gets passed through an imperfect human system of profiling. Its something that is hard to hate on because the police job is one of instincts where your life or death depends on your ability to "guess" who is evil and who isn't. So there is a fear of life and death propelling this type of stereotype.

But this doesnt change the fact that people shouldn't resist arrest.

Nor does it change the fact that even the profiled black male can easily diffuse any situation with polite positivity and still get treated like anyone else even if initially not being given the benefit of the doubt.

Many civilized black people will agree with me when I say, its not a big deal. Its real life and its nobody fault, not the cops, not black people, not anyone, that blacks commit more crimes disproportionately, its just a reality of historical events.

Its definitely not related to the many situations where a guy is resisting arrest and gets shot.

Its one whole separate phenomenon (profiling in past) projecting its paranoia on another. (criminal resisting arrest and getting shot)

People connect the two when the motive for race isn't there. They are projecting it. they expect cops to let criminals live in free anarchy and anything less then that they cry "profiling!"

They essentially don't want to be policed. No chit, nobody does. I wish I could go around committing crimes too. But I don't have the audacity to complain about laws because I know we need them for civilization to continue as it is.

How do you know if I have been to Lagos or not?

You missed the point I made. You are taking random images completely out of context, and then calling everyone else an idiot while you try and claim sort of superior intellect.

Nigeria is a third world hell hole that half the country is trying to flee as they head to European countries. America is one of the most prosperous countries on the planet. Trying to suggest that they are on par is utterly retarded.

No, that is the perception but it isn't as dramatic as you might think. If we were to control for the amount of miles people drove, what neighborhoods they were driving through (high police presence), their socioeconomic status, etc we'd find the problem has been grossly exaggerated. I don't doubt it is scary for black people to be pulled over by the cops. They are grouped with other people of the same race who have frequent encounters with the police so they get a second look. Plus, I think a big part of the problem is the cultural differences between whites and African Americans who were born here. White people tend to be more passive and submissive with the police whereas it seems a lot of black people tend to push back against authority figures, especially the police. The police don't know how to deal with this, end up taking it personally and try to force the person into submission.

The point is the police aren't pulling people over in great numbers just because they are black. At least the statistics I've seen don't support this overall. Once pulled over they are more likely to be searched though.

In 2011, about 3% of traffic stops led to a search of the driver, the vehicle, or both. Police were more likely to search male drivers (4%) than female drivers (2%).

A lower percentage of white drivers stopped by police in 2011 were searched (2%) than black (6%) or Hispanic (7%) drivers.
