It matter how you treat others, whether you think so or not.

Quality thread!!!!
Anything for the MISC brahs from the age of 35-40 who might be just starting a family?
Ive shifted my priorities from business to spending time with the kids as much as possible
Shifted focus on lifting heavy for mass to exercising for health (running, yoga, higher reps on lifting, etc)
Any other tips to prepare for 50 as a 40 year old?

Biggest mistake is to make changes for someone else only, that you are not bought in on, but that you are doing to satisfy someone else. If you are not bought in on the changes, it will prob end badly.
Thanks for the kind comments.

The world is a cold, calculated, nasty place. No one is going to coddle you. And if they do, they will be back for their pound of flesh payment in the future.
You are going to have to figure out, on your own, how to walk yourself past disappointments and betrayal, and keep pointing yourself toward success.

Be careful in setting goals, and thinking that when you reach "there" you will be set and can coast. Life has a way of pushing out the goal lines.

I have fought alcoholism and testicle cancer and won. Now I have a fight against osteo-arthritis (wear and tear arthritis) in my hip. I will win this fight also.
Don't let anyone talk you into labeling yourself as "disprivileged". Do not submit. Do not quit. You brahs can make it too.

Have had a director ask for a short script of mine
An agent ask for a feature length script for one of his directors
And a Hollywood producer ask me for 2 proposals for different scripts.

cant believe this is my first time chancing upon this thread.
currently 22, turning 23 in october. 2016 has been the toughest year i have had.
dad's business failed, he got hit by a car, a few months later the aneurysm in his brain burst. now hes a hemorrhagic stroke patient and me and my mum are the caretakers. lack of money, needing to work, study and near 24/7 taking care of my dad.
this **** is really tough for me to deal with at such a young age, doesn't help that my sister doesn't help out ****. this thread has given me a lot of motivation just reading through each page. thanks a lot man, appreciate the wisdom.
i just tell myself every morning that i still have a life to make something out of it and a very caring mum that i love. can't give up, just gotta keep trucking man.

The world would be a better place if everyone would channel their frustration and anger to better themselves and be nicer to everyone they meet. Everyone has their own fights and stories to tell, you are not more important than another.

I have had good years and not good years. But if I had the opportunity to go back and talk to 20 year old me, and have 20 year old me listen, this is what I would say:
-Figure out early what is important; you cannot do this early enough
-Dont spend so much money on liquor. I could have bought a brand new SUV by now
-Pick a few things and do them well and stick with them, quit chasing random crap
-Select a career you love regardless of the money, cause you never know when you will be kicked to the curb, unless you want to be self-employed.
-You treat people like crap, you will get treated like crap. Expect it, and no cryin
-Eat right.
-Whats outside (aesthetic) is important, but whats more important is who you are inside (no whiteknight, just reality, deal with it)
-Insecure people always have to have someone/something else to blame. Dont be that guy.
(More later, and BTW no amount of rage on your part will change the validity of my words):

When do you think that you are too old to chase younger dreams? Are you ever too old?
I'm 27 and wanting to get back into competing... however, it would take a lot of effort on my part and I would have to sacrifice a lot of personal time that could be put towards business/education endeavours. I feel as though I will regret not giving it this last shot... but at the same time I am worried that I will be wasting my time and put myself years behind where I would be if I just continued with what I am doing now.

Realize that success is like gardening. You prepare the ground, plant the seeds, water water water, but you don't see anything. Are you going to give up and dig up the garden? NO. You stay with it.
And then one day, BOOM! Results everywhere. KEEP DIGGIN.

If you want to be the best at football, its gonna cost you, no matter how much natural talent you have. You are going to have to push harder than other people do, you are going to have to practice more, and stay with it. If you want to be successful in business, you can’t just sit around thinking about the cars you want to buy, the house you want to live in and the vacations you want to take. You don’t get rich by dreaming about the stuff you want. Everybody wants the stuff, everybody wants to be able to do what they want to do, but few are willing to pay the price that it takes to get it.
Again and again, you will see that people that are successful in an area are envied. And one reason they are envied is that people want what they have, and want to be able to do what those people do, but they are not willing to pay the price they paid. They are not willing to sacrifice.
-Keith Moore

32 yr old geezer here,
the right choices in life are pretty simple, you just have to have the guts to do what is right/best for you. I think thats what it boils down to. Most of us know what we should be doing to improve our lives and the lives of others. But most people are to coward to do what is right.

So what do you do when it seems like its all caving in? Financial challenges, strained family relationships, lost opportunity and health issues? You gonna sit down and cry, or stand up and shout NOT IN MY HOUSE!

At times, I have made 62k a year with 60k in the bank, and at other times I LIVED IN MY CAR. And at neither of those times, nor any in between, did it matter what someone else made or someone else had.
I keep my focus on me and what I need to accomplish.
