the last bullet is probably the reason we wouldnt go to that sort of thing....

ultimately those are to raise money for the wedding or something right?

i never understood that. so wait, i have to pay at this party to be able to then afford the food/drink i consume at the wedding.

just seems like a lot of effort and probably a sign the wedding needs to be scaled back.

edit: is this taking the place of the actual wedding? ive seen that done before. so in reality it just ends up being a party because that couldnt afford a reception.

I'd ask if you were close to your cousin but doesn't sound like it.
In which case, I personally wouldn't bother.
But then again I avoid these things like the plague regardless.

yea I think its like a regional thing. very common around here. we didn't have one for the reason you stated. didn't like the idea of having people pay for that party only to have to give gifts and stuff at the wedding as well

and nah its not taking the place of the wedding. its usually done a month or 2 before the wedding to raise money

but yea she didn't make any effort to come to our wedding/events which rustled my jim jams seeing as how were a pretty small family and its only a handful of us cousins

well. i mean out of spite, i probably wouldnt go.

but to be honest, after stepping back and knowing how it will look down the road, just because they dropped the ball doesnt mean you need to. but you could go half way. maybe send money but dont go to the event.

Good morning,I heard about the France attack last night in bed and just couldn't believe it. Smh.

Last night I went to the a team kung fu class (all boys) and sparred with no gloves or protection. It was great but my shin is bruised to all hell from planning some round house kicks. They go to a tournament next week, I think I want to fight next year guys.

her whole family kinda pissed me off with our wedding, cuz my Uncle didn't go, she (jack and jill one) didn't go, my Aunt and jack and jill girl's brother came, but left right after dinner. and what they gave didn't even cover their food + open bar tab (which is whatever) but if youre going to do that then just why bother going? would've rather had those spots for other people who would've actually enjoyed it like Tellit 100% srs that's why it makes me mad

Um, yeah, in that case, I'd definitely not be going. Seems like they're only interested if there's something in it for them (which I suspect is the unfortunate case w/ many people who are invited to such events).

Y'know, now that you mentioned it, just realized it's not even 0700, lol.

Woke up at 0215 and fiddled around a bit before traipsing into work around 0500. Not sure what I'm going to do if I ever land a gig & I'm required to work "normal" people hours. I may have to start going to the gym or something in the morning instead.

I despise moving. Not sure I could do another relocation in such a short timeframe unless there was a damned good reason to do so.

i think about this alot ^^^^

i get in at like 6:45/7 and probably 90% of the office gets in anywhere from 7:30-8:30. well then i feel bad leaving at 4 (do not take lunch, just eat at desk and keep working) as I am the first one out the door. sometimes ill work late til 5/6 but still....A lot of them also go out to lunch. so by 1pm I have worked 6+ hours already and some of them are looking at 3-4 hours.

debating going to gym before work so i am "seen" at work more even though i will probably end up working less
