I doubt it.

You might be tough, if you are tough. You might be just calm and sure of yourself without the need to put on a show.

The awesome thing is that no one knows but you.

For instance, a tall guy will likely never get a tat saying "I'm tall" because he knows it and so does everyone else.

So, signs of depression tats: Cheerful designs and cute things. You're trying to say "I'm happy" but if you were you wouldn't need to sell it like that.

Tough guys tats: They say that you're a coward or have lots of anxiety about being manly, and so on.

People who are actually tough are actually tough and don't think about it. People who know them know they're tough and so no tat is needed. Also, a truly mean people wouldn't want anyone knowing they are and wouldn't want to give it away.

If a normal guy bumped into me or something and acted a little aggressive I'd be less likely to throw a punch cause I don't know if the normal guy is just talking crap.. but mr. tough guy with tattoos is going to meet a man who's prepared 99% of the time. Only time it might work is if he's with his 10 other tough guy tatted group and considering I know they're all scum who will jump in I might try to back out of the situation. Considering they usually do do it to copy their friends and form groups I suppose it works in those situations. But having those sorts of friends again makes it far more likely you'll end up in a fight due to any one of them getting into such a situation and forcing you into it. Most of the time tough guy tattooed men are just fighting other tough guy tattooed men, not normal people. And tattoos last forever, friends don't.
ITT OP went and inked up with a 'tough guy' tattoo, proceeded to get into a fight and his friends felt he was a douche and cut him from the circle.

Lol. People with tattoos do not care about what other people think. If a normal guy is scared or tense, then that is their problem and maybe he should stick to going to balls or a country club. But I'm willing to bet they have tattoos too.

Now those who live the outlaw lifestyle or Mexican gangbanging are a whole different story and pretty much everyone would be tense in a room with one of them.

This is a very narrow minded view point on why others choose to get tattoos. People get tattoos for themselves to reflect periods in their lives, a belief or to remember someone fallen or dear to them. Yes some people get them to "show off" or for others, but I guarantee that the vast majority do it for themselves and themselves alone. I have two tattoos (quarter sleeve and one side of my ribs) that aren't visible normally (which is how I wanted it to be professionally) but I don't care because I got them for me and no one else.

It is the exact opposite.

People who have tats care what people think too much. Also, they aren't creative and have trouble expressing it.

They get designs made by other people to promote ideas about themselves because they're incapable of doing it themselves. People who truly don't care and are original just do whatever they want and are creative enough to do it without much effort.

Confident people are "ninjas" and don't just spew who they are.

When I wrestled in highschool we had this 220lb nationally ranked dude who was jacked af and was even going to college for football. Needless to say he was afraid of one of his opponents who was a fatter black dude that had a tattoo.

That's all a Borderline Personality Disorder type of dynamic. Feeling sad, empty, then self-mutilating, and the pain causes a rush.

The problem is that it's no substitute for having a real fulfilling life.

It's almost always a cliched image. In a few years is will blur and look like sh!t as your skin is a living changing organ. You will have a progressively more ugly blob on you until death.

There's no denying that you have an extremely biased viewpoint on this. Are you religious by chance? I have nothing against you, but I have everything against your very one sided way of thinking about tattoos. People get them for tons of different reasons, and most of the time it's for their benefit only, only an idiot gets something permanently put on their body to show off. Everyone I know has them for personal reasons, including myself whether cliche or not to you it may hold a particular significance to someone else. It almost sounds as like you're trying to make it out to be that people who get tattoos have some sort of mental disorder, which couldn't be more incorrect.

Take care of your skin and tattoos do not fade/distort as well as you're making them out to.

Tattoos are so common place today, I don't think anyone stops to look and see if one if "tough" looking or another.

Those are some of the ugliest tattoos I've ever seen. They look like ugly shirts, or worse they really need to take a bath.

Pathetic.
