The man shouting at the shooter had a strong Bavarian accent. The shooter himself didn't speak in a Bavarian accent, not even a hint of Bavarian pronunciation was heard. He spoke a regular high-German. To me it sounded like the German of a person who was born in Germany to immigrant parents but I could be wrong.

Edit: Nvm, saw the news update. Iranian-German, just like I thought. An ethnic-German speaks differently, even if it is high-German.

When the Iranian Revolution started in 1979, Germany accepted lots of Iranian refugees.
Those were mostly academics, who didn't want to live under islamic law.
Iranians in Germany outperform German kids in school and are academically on par with Koreans here(being the kids pf doctors/scientists).
Many are rather militant atheist and tend to curse on muslims and really hate on Islam.
