Are you part of/Have you built a mastermind group? Or is all this a one-man show? If mastermind, how did you find the right partners?

Not sure if youre joking or not, but my friend lied about his grades and landed himself a really high paying job at the bank of england. He told someone about it though 3-4 years later and they sacked him, which was a shame because he was apparently very good at the job.

And the first point is 100% valid too. If youre selling something to a customer and youre young, good looking, dressed well, charming, flirty etc vs. a fat old man with a combover and sweat stained shirt and a HUGE belly - then they will pick the young good looking one everyday. it's even more important for girls.

I know a few good looking girls and they're dumb as fuk but have awesome jobs as a like PA's on like 75K a year with bonuses and stuff thrown in, just because the blokes like perving on them lol

All a one-man show. I have a very talented network, so if I need something doing last minute I will pay someone to fix it for me - if I need it done. But I dont have any employees. Id hate to have employees. You pay them a fixed wage whether your business is doing well or not, they work incredibly slow, they arent enthusiastic about things like you are, they are super hard to get rid of without paying them a ton of money.

The common thread I have noticed with successful people is that they don't complain or blame others, they take responsibility, they think positively and see opportunities in life and they have an attitude of abundance.

Agree with what you say about not concerning yourself with saving pennies here and there, look at the big picture as this is the way to get really wealthy.

From an accounting perspective it would mean focusing on top line revenue growth to increase profits.

People who are stingy with information are the equivalent of trying to save pennies I think. They are the types to always bring others down to boost themselves, they see the world as having a finite amount of happiness and they want to build their own happiness at the expense of others.

Compare that to people like OP who have an attitude of abundance and see that providing value to others will also bring value and benefit both parties.

I didnt. I had about 20K or so when i was 17 or something like that from working and stuff that I had saved up for. I worked so hard (before I worked intelligently) that I didnt want to spend it carelessly lol..

I used to wash planes when I was 15-17 in order to help fund my pilots license. I've posted on misc before about it in more detail, but long story short I was getting around 400 per plane, which would include full valet inside and outside. I started printing off loads of brochures and leaflets and worked 3 different airports. Each airport had around 20 hangars, with 30 airplanes in each one. A polish cleaning firm were charging around 1500 for the same job, but obviously better. I got a lot of business because people knew i was young, student, wanting to save up money to complete pilots license etc..

I got overwhelmed by work in the summer, so asked a few of my friends to help out. It ended up with them cleaning the planes, I would pay them 75 for the day, and I'd make around 400 per plane. Each lpane was around 5-6hours work. Would usually get free flights/ air time too which was cool. So whilst I was studying for school, I was still earning a lot and could stay at home and do my work.

My first big purchases were flats that I had bought to rent out. I didnt blink at the thought of this because I did all my research and knew they would make me money.

I paid for my girlfriend to go to vegas for her 21st, all in, shopping, flights, nice hotel room in aria etc. That was cool. Came to around 3-4K.

The boat I bought for around 17K IIRC, but its had one owner since new, and is very, very high spec, new engine, full service history etc. The cheapest one of the same model online is 25K and it doesnt have an engine or sails. I imagine its worth around 30-35K min atm.

That was quite a steep purchase for me, but I knew I would easily be able to flip it for the same price so I wasnt that bothered about paying out for it. I've also had so many good memories on it, that even if I sold it for 0 I would be happy with that (no homo). Like just going out to sea to a quiet bay, dropping anchor, playing loud music with friends, spearfishing, BBQing the 30 minute old fish, catching lobsters and eating them, doing backflips off the boat and falling asleep looking at the stars. It's super relaxing.

My friend keeps telling me I should buy a Lambo or ferrari, but I dont want people to start asking questions in real life. Nothing good comes from people thinking you have money, so its even worse if you are going around out there essentially yelling LOOK AT MY BRIGHT YELLOW LAMBORGHINI. I will upgrade my car soon to a 6-8,000 BMW Estate. Im thinking of getting a 535D M Sport 2006/2009 year. Or a Jaguar XF diesel, or Audi A5. I dont want anything lairy at the moment.

People just expect handouts, or try to tell you about their master business plan, or want you to develop their app for free, or build their website for 10% ownership etc. It gets tiring.

edit: programming is all self taught. You dont need school education for that. Save your money. If you want to go into contracting, C## pays VERY well, so does PHP. HTML and CSS are basics and essential to know. Ruby pays very well too. If you learn a programming language that is rare, you can basically name your price if youre good at it.

People who setup salesforce CRMs and microsoft dynamics for large agencies charge like 1-2K per day.

Its worth mentioning I still dont even know what the fuk I am doing. Lots of people my age (20-28) feel so unsure about life, not sure what they are doing about work etc.. We are all feeling like this. I have no idea what I am doing. I am very lucky to be where I am (although, I wouldnt have got here without hard work, that is for sure!) I am just winging life basically. No idea what the hell I am doing, when people ask what I do for work I hesitate and have to actually think about what answer I am going to give them and they look at me really weirdly, as if I am some secret pablo escobar or something. I dont understand why people are happy to pay me what they do, and I dont understand why more people dont work for themselves, or atleast try it.

I find it incredibly boring listening to friends complaining about lack of money, or saying things like 'cant wait for payday' because I cant relate to it. They also all have stupidly expensive tastes and want to life lives like Kim Kardashian, whilst working as a car mechanic in a small village (not hating on mechanics by the way) or working intern job after intern job waiting for lucky break.

hey OP, i could really use some advice right now. I'm currently 22 and a lot of **** happened in my life that I honestly couldn't control. right now everything in my family is messed up, dad's cerebral aneurysm burst + business failed resulting in debts etc. so finances are off. i'm not gonna post about my sob story here but i'm currently a caregiver for him alongside with my mum. i'm raising funds now for a maid to help my mum out while i start living my life.

i am interested in getting into the technology sector, apps, online marketing stuffs and all. but i am clueless on where should i start from and what should i learn first? i am quite clueless now and am kind of lost. just trying to find my way and make it in life. would appreciate any advices you will give to me. i do realise that i actually can have control of my life and not let my emotions get to me and stuffs. i have already started reading The Power of Now and will read the other books you have mentioned.

Heya, sounds like a chitty time at the moment. Atleast the silver lining is that things can (and will) only get better. I've had times in the past where it felt like every single business avenue I was looking at was met with a brick wall, or when things started going well then some really random event came up that meant it stopped.

The best advice I could give is in my OP. Just keep throwing out idea after idea until something finally works for you.

What works for someone, wont work for someone else etc. You need to find what works for you, what you are good at, what you are good at selling, making the most of your connections etc.

Reading is all very well, but if you arent actually putting into practice what you are reading then its useless. I have a few friends that have read about 100 self help books and start something, but give up straight away. That's not how Rome was built!

Good effort but it feels like I've read this before, 100x. Maybe some points always need reinforcing, I guess.

A lot of your success is attributable to luck or being in the right place at the right time. Stop pretending to be some sort of philosopher or some authority on financial success.

I do wonder if you could tell me why I tend to think of an excuse to not start on all the business idea's I have? It's either X or Y it couldn't/wouldn't/shouldn't work. The idea just doesn't feel like an A+ idea, so why should I bother starting with it? I feel like I have an huge drive in me to work, I have a good work ethic but I just can't find something to put my energy in.

I said above that a lot of it is down to luck. A series of events going bad for me, which forced my hands into doing particular things, meeting particular people because of those situations and making the best of it.

Luck is only so much to factor in to it though. I understand there are people who bust their asses off their whole life and make nothing. If I didnt work hard and try like over 100 different things then I wouldnt have the networth i do, at the age i am. The harder/longer I work, the luckier I am.

Not insulting the educated class, just said it's not for me. Lawyer/Doctor/engineers etc are all pretty slow ways to wealth. Like one of my friends who's in a similar position to me said ' I dont want to be driving around in my dream car at 50 years old. I want it in my 20s.'

I dont ask any questions about it, but presume its dodgey as they are usually done up with makeup/dressed up well with heels etc. The women are also notoriously flirty.
