Pitbulls...srs...no hate, need your help misc

Ok brahs so my baby momma (lack of a better word) is getting a new born pit (after 6 weeks with their mom ofc)


There was a recent pit attack in the scummiest neighbourhood in my city (Im assuming shtty owner)


Ive never owned one but have been around them all my life...They were amazing imo, sooo playful and never felt threatened, but the owners had pits all their lives and know how to train them.


If she raises him properly (shes never had a pit but had animals all her life) would there still be any risk of an attack (unprovoked)

you seem like the typical pit owner, baby momma, snapback hat ect.

pits were bred for ages to be an aggressive fighting dog. yes there is a much higher risk with owning one.

I just got a pitbull puppy a few weeks ago. I highly suggest you get a professional trainer to teach it obedience. That's what I'm doing.

I have a blue nose pit and she's the sweetest dog, she has 7 other dogs to play with at my parents house and gets along well with people, it's how they are raised honestly...

Why?





In other words she likes the novelty and this is a recipe for disaster. Hope she can still live with herself after that dog takes a disfiguring chunk out of your baby's face cuz she steps in its tail.
There are lots of other breeds that are "so playful" and less prone to kill your child.

But hey, it's probably worth the risk.

Pit bulls weren't bred to be fighting dogs, pits were originally nanny dogs that looked after children because they are gentle and not aggressive as you think...

The trainer I got is $300 for a single 3 hour session, and then $400 for 5 additional sessions. And he also has this deal where after you complete his program he'll give a free 1 hour session once a month for the rest of the dogs life. It would be cheaper if you got a trainer at petco or petsmart but they won't do it until your dog has all his shots and I didn't want to wait that long so I had to pay more to find a trainer that would work with my pup at this age.

this is just stupid....BRB if not born into a family with pitbulls then you should never own one? Her mom's ex had numerous pitbulls in his life and is awesome with them, and she's owned a few dogs in her lifetime


My friend has a pregenant pitbull and we can get a puppy for free...thats why she wants a pitbull

for starters, do not accept a dog unless it's spent at least 8 weeks with the parents/siblings.

I would not recommend getting a puppy or adult dog, pit or otherwise, while you are taking care of a baby. wait at least a few years.

There is no way to eliminate risk of attack in any dog, as they all have animal instinct and respond to stimuli. That being said, a bit will require firm handling and obedience training, more so than most breeds.

You need to ask more specific questions if you want answers.

Girls like pitts cuz their the "bad boy" of dogs, just like how girls like human bad boys too.

Pitts are a bad idea bro, unless you live on a farm, keep it securely caged and under control, and have no kids.

Think of it like this bro, all dogs bite, but the bigger, stronger, and more aggressive the breed, the bigger chance the dog will cause major damage/death.

All dog breeds have general temperaments, and pitts are naturally aggressive and strong as fuack. training doesnt do jack chit, its the luck of the draw when you get a dog how it will naturally act, and even then a "gentle" dog temperament can still rage and bite bad.

So in my opinion, a pitt is like one of the worst choices for a female with a baby.

Ive also almost been attacked by a pitt.

triggered? check any links, they'll pretty much all show that pits+rotts account for over 9/10 of fatal dog attacks, with pits taking a strong lead. I just chose the first one.

Seems like you've already made up your mind, but you have your doubts so you came to the misc looking for validation that its ok to have a pitbull live with an 8 yr old. You're not getting the validation you wanted to hear and now your trying to justify it to yourself. How about a Lab or a Golden Retriever or a Beagle or a Shi tzu?

I've owned 4 pits now. The first thing you need to know is they are incredibly strong dogs. The second thing is I've never known one to be human aggressive. In fact, I've never known a nicer dog around people. But, and this is a big but, I've known several that are animal aggressive. This can be a huge deal if you have neighbors with dogs or just like to take your dog for a walk. I'm still not sure if this is something they're born with or learn but it's very difficult to train them and trust them. And if it happens, these dogs can kill a small dog in seconds and do major harm to a larger dog. I know this first hand and the consequences aren't fun. Especially with a dog who's name has already been run through the mud a hundred times.

Had several pits, some are fine around other animals and others attack on site. Had two brothers I raised, neutered, etc. Lasted about 2 yrs old and then one decided to become extremely aggressive while the other one was completely docile. Same house, shared everything, went everywhere together. Oddness.

no, I just don't appreciate people and websites that take bullsht statistics and tout them as fact. any quick search about "pitbulls" will show you that multiple breeds get lumped into the same category as pitbull attacks.

More than likely no, but I'm assuming your baby momma (for lack of a better term) doesn't know how to raise any breed of dog to begin with since she's a fuking woman and women are absolute retards with dogs.
