The pucker factor on the Knife Edge on Capitol Peak looks pretty epic.

Dude just showed up to install the iron balusters for the stairs . . . will be nice to get that done. I think I'm going to be exceptionally happy to have hired that part out. Will have to see how long it takes this guy, since he does it all day long. However long it takes him, it would have taken me at least 3x if not more, I'm guessing.

They're posted on slickguns pretty regularly for prices ranging from $189-$209.

$215 looks like the cheapest at the moment from Sportsman Outdoor Superstore.

I'd pick up an LCP. I have one in my briefcase for work that I leave there and essentially forget about.

It's chewed its way through a fair amount of ammo since I bought it in 2010, never had an FTF and reasonably accurate for what it is.

Baluster guy has been working for about 2 hours . . . he's over half-way done. Looks Tier 0.

Amazing what experience and the right tools can do. He has a portable band saw to cut the iron balusters and a jig to hold/cut two at a time . . . pretty slick. I can't imagine trying to do that with a cut-off wheel on a grinder or chop saw--plus shooting sparks all over the place. Knows exactly how to measure, cut and install. I'm pretty sure I would have jacked up several balusters trying to cut them right and probably would have been on about 2 installed at this point and about ready to punch through a wall.

Will post some pics later when it's finished.

I'm about to farm out my deck railing as well. Business has me swamped lately and I just want to go boating or fishing on the weekends. Sometimes its just worth it to pay.

That was the original plan . . . to do it all. I removed the old balusters, sanded down the railings/posts, and then stained them and poly'd them. When I was talking to the guy who was going to sell me the balusters, he said he'd only charge me $450 in labor to install them if I was interested. That sounded like a bargain to me--and I'm pretty damn happy with farming that one piece out after this guy blazed through it in a single morning. He just left.

So I did nearly all of it--just not the baluster install. Here's the before and after.

Anyhoo, SonB hurt himself lifting weights yesterday. I don't know how he did it, but it involved his teeth and a trip to the ER. He's 3 hours away, so wifey is a little freaked. So she just called me and said that the neighbor spiked our trash can against our front door. Trash pick up was yesterday and I forgot to bring it up. Needless to say, she opened the door and asked him WTF he thought he was doing. He clearly thought no one was home and tried to argue with her. She called the police and the LEO was pretty miffed at the neighbor so he went and knocked on his door. They were home, but didn't come to the door. Game is now officially on. I have notified the city about their dogs and the fact that they haven't mowed their back yard in at least two years. They're sending a code enforcement official sometime in the next few days. I'm so pissed off right now.

Amazes me that people let chit like that get to them. My neighbors seriously leave their trash cans out at the end of the driveway almost all week, every week. Zero fuks given

I'm so pissed off right now.
threw the garbage can against your front door? i yell at people for letting their dog chit in my yard. If i were you I'd be beyond pissed off.

I did Bierstadt, pretty simple. Would have preferred a little more of a challenge but still glad I did it.

This. Seems like the neighbor thinks he's the Papa family's supervisor.
