Kimber is pretty chitty quality at a premium price. Their guns look very nice, but there are better options (quality) for less

I just posted this on ar15. Might as well post it here to see if it helps anyone.

Edit: this is only applicable for the G42/43 since bigger Glocks already come with a FPSP with a chamfered hole.
I noticed that between the wall and the break, there was very noticeable creep maybe 50% of the time. I've owned two G42s, a 26, a 19C, and now a 43. This is the first time I've ever experienced something like this.

Everything was already polished smooth so I started analyzing every little part of the system.
I noticed that on the firing pin safety plunger (FPSP), the FPSP spring would bind on the edge of the hole (of the FPSP) during compression. It was even faintly audible when pushing on the FPSP with the slide off. This intermittent binding occurred with both a stock and reduced power FPSP springs.

What I ended up doing was taking a dremel bit (#945) and going at the FPSPS hole for maybe 5 second intervals (about 30-45 sec total), then polishing the chamfer a wee bit.
The end product is an ever so slightly beveled opening for the FPSP spring. You can't even tell the bevel is there unless you look at it under a light and at an angle.
And guess what?
No more creep between the wall and the break! I've dry fired it a few hundred times in the past hour in super slow-mo and can feel no perceptible creep like I could before.

I understand that I'm probably one of the few that experience this problem and am part of an even smaller number of people who would care, but I figure I'd post it anyway

Obligatory picture:

Slow paced bullseye shooting the cartridge power/recoil doesn't really matter unless you are flinching. Get a shot timer and put it on the clock. You'll see the difference there.

I shoot .45 better because it's out of a platform designed by God's gift to firearmskind with human hand ergonomics in mind as opposed to lego hand ergonomics.

Also, wife managed to find some of this mil-surp (I know someone here hated that abbreviation, so fcuk you) federal ball. At first, I thought it was some dumb, reissued crap until I saw the cases marked 65.

Would buy if you weren't on the opposite coast.

Have 5 handguns right now though, really don't need another one. But those VP9s just seem so sexy.

I'll take it if no one has claimed it. Co worker just bought a 43 and would be happy to take a free holster. I'll cover shipping as well if you'd like.
Edit: It is a right hand model, correct?
