Never Trumpers(aka Republicans for Hillary), how can you let the SUPREME COURT fall?

Dead fuking serious. I'm not here to argue any other issue except the Supreme Court. Even if you hate everything else about Trump, how can you not vote for him on the Supreme Court alone?

I'm seriously trying to understand since I have friends who are nevertrumpers and who cannot provide me a solid answer on this issue.

And don't tell me "oh you have know way of knowing he'll do what he says". BS. But ok, fine. Let's assume for a minute that there is no way of knowing if he'll elect conservative justices and follow through... That STILL means there is at least a 50/50 chance.

You KNOW FOR A FACT who Hillary will put in the court. So why in God's name would you not vote Trump on this issue alone?

I really do want to understand. I'm not here to argue any other issue. Just the Supreme Court. So please help me understand.
TRUMP 2020!!!

Justices serve longer than the time period of the president and this election will decide if it gets majority dem or not so it really is the sleeper issue of the election. Especially with constitutional issues surrounding speech, guns, etc which have come to the front.

Exactly. Not sure how the Republicans for Hillary crowd/NeverTrump-tards don't understand this. Or maybe they do and don't give a damn.

I've wondered this too. Ben Shapiro--disappointingly--actually thinks if Hilary is elected, it'll make the case for conservatism stronger. Apparently its lost on him that politics is downstream from culture. Conservatism as he knows it won't have a leg to stand on after another 8 years of 'enlightenment' by the regressive left.

the conservative court stripped state's rights in 2000 when they took away the states ability to regulate it's own voting. Among other issues the conservative court has not been so "conservative," except on religious issues and whenever Obama does something. The only logical reason to have a conservative majority is to protect the second amendment, though even a liberal court will probably never go as far as to ban guns totally.
Abortion? Would rather it be permissible.
Birth control? Same thing
Affirmative action is going to be eliminated within the next 7~ years regardless imo
Speech: It doesn't really make a difference between the two ideologies that control the court minus a religious squabble or two. There is little a difference when it comes to the court besides issues on sexuality and religion, and guns. Besides those two, the right wing and left wing will swing between individuals as on the supreme court there are 5-9 different ideologies present.

My issue with trump's supreme court picks, is that if they are anything similar to Pence, we are in for some extremist chit.

Why the supreme court justices don't have term limit's still shocks me. Such a powerful, unelected, and life long position needs more regulations. A pressential election shouldn't decide massive policy changes for the next decades.

The Supreme Court won't matter much after Trump defaults on the US debt.

Besides, what is a liberal court gonna do? Keep abortion safe and legal? AT WORST uphold some restrictions on guns? idgaf about that when we sink to 3rd world country status with Greece

Fuking this. Major flaw in our government's design. Additionally, I don't think the president should elect the justices. The people should.

I agree. It should be done by Congress alone or the states and congress, and the justices should have 5-10 year term limits without reelection.

It's too concentrated in a single person for such a powerful position.

Also give congress term limits too.

I always bring this issue to the Rep never Trumpsters in this forum.

It's bye bye to individual liberty the way we know it if Clinton gets elected.

She will legalize 11+ million illegals in her first term + import another million from Syria and other Arab war torn countries thus forever changing the political demographics of this country, it is in essence the end of the GOP.

All these looms and you still have clowns like Jeff Bush attacking Trump like a butthurt bullied little High School biitch.

We have to understanding that the GOP RINOS are the elite and will never be affected by policies as far as their special interest groups keep the gravy train running.

shorter term limits would actually increase presidential power since the justices are appointed by the president, and the president won't appoint somebody that doesn't view to constitution in the way the president wants them to. Shorter terms, more appointments per president, greater bias in his direction. They probably saw the need to have stability in the supreme court so not having term limits means you're inheriting people from the past 30 years worth of administrations that is slow to change and difficult to manipulate during the course of 8 years. Conflict between the branches is probably intended to keep it roughly balanced so there aren't continual dramatic changes in what is constitutional or not and frequent reversals of what is interpreted as legal or not.

edit; So sure there should be term limits so you don't have geriatric justices, but the term limit should be greater than a couple of administration lengths.

Ok since you're really going to be a dumba*s...

Hillary Clinton's tax and spending proposal will be raising our national debt by over 2 trillion.

Aware me on what other topics I'm "clueless" on?

Hillary is going to raise taxes. Trump is going to lower them.

Hillary's open border immigration plan and her promise allow a 550% increase in documented immigration is going to change the voter demographic of this country FOREVER for the Democratic Party. There will never be another republican. But of course, you don't care.

The fact that you said you don't care if we sink to a third world country like Greece means:

1) You are a dumba*s plain and simple.
2) You are a Hillary supporter.
3) Both of the above.

You sound like the clueless one.
