When will they ever BAN bikes on roads?

Cyclists have to be the most ignorant (trolls) people in today's world. They know they piss everyone off, but continue to do it.
If you ride on the sidewalk, on campus or downtown, you piss everyone off on the sidewalk, weaving in and out of people. Running into people with no care. Causing everyone on the sidewalk to be on watch for a bike.
If you ride on the street, you're equally annoying. Most of the time you ride in the middle of the road and pretend you're a car, making it impossible for anyone to pass you (Because of course you can't do 45mph). I can kinda understand that, until I watch you guys pick and chose which traffic laws you want to obey. I see you guys running red, making left hand turns on red, rights on red without stopping at all etc... You would think a cyclist would have more common sense to be safe when he is dealing with objects that if hit him, would smear them on the road.
I will say the 1% who take cycling very seriously are fine. The problem is the other 99% need to stop riding.
Bottom line is there is NO reason to be riding a bike on roads/street/sidewalks. They should only be used for recreation purposes, races, parks, etc.. Unless you live in a developing country, a bike is no longer acceptable transportation. We have cheap cars (Brand new cars for 10k) and bus/rail systems that do everything a bike can, better, faster and best yet, do not annoy everyone.

Riding in the center of the lane is the safest place to be, because it forces cars to CHANGE LANES and give you adequate space when passing.
Trying to be a good bicyclist and ride all the way to the right encourages cars to try to squeeze past because most drivers are morons who would rather kill someone than go 10 mph under the speed limit for a few seconds

I commute to work on my bicycle there is no public transportation to my house
My car takes me 15 mins to work, i bike in 25.
If everyone else in the world did this it would be a better place x 10000. There would be no fatasses esp considering the monster fuking hill i live on top of.
Also i agree about the traffic law problem, i hate cyclists who dont follow them because i get hate by association. Last week i got honked at for coming to a complete stop at a stop sign tho... Be careful what you wish for?

Cycling to college/work is the least expensive way of transportation, and if you are like me having to work to pay the bills and still want some extra money saved to invest, you will come to realize that having a bicycle trumps having a car on every single aspect, only real advantage of owning a car is when you are doing long distance trips, but even then, it's much better to just rent a car or use public transportation.
In short, i am actually impressed by the amount of morons i know that have already difficult problems and dig deeper into debt by buying some ****ty car just because "they are supossed to buy a car".
I get the hate that cyclist get, a lot of them are idiots but the truth is, most people who own cars are idiots too. When i am commuting i see people completely disregarding the law, people running red lights, no blinkers, stuff like that. The problem is not with the bikers being stupid, problem is pretty much everybody is a stupid ****.

Riding to the far right just makes people try and squeeze past. That's how bikes get hit.

Loool all you motor heads rage too easily ya'lls should be the ones getting off the road. If a biker is following the traffic laws then why can't they be on the road they pay for? And were far better at utalizing it then you plebs
There are some aweful cyclists tho... I met this one guy once who puposely cut off cars going real slow when the bike line was empty and having them all honking. Then he tells me he just likes to piss off motorists for fun in any way he can

i just hate the cyclists that think that the rules of the road dont apply to them (which is 90% of cyclists)
brb whats a stop sign
brb whats a red light
brb cater to me
cyclists need to realize that their bicycle is considered a vehicle once its on the road. respect the rules like everyone else.

there's a reason cars require a license to be on roads. because roads aren't meant for cars. Roads are for everyone to travel on, be it walking, riding, cycling.

I know how you feel OP but Coming in here I wanted to go off on most of the people commenting. BUT I know better. Its the internet and it wont solve anything anyways. SO ..Cyclist ride in the road because we can. Its allowed, especially when there are no bike lanes. AND if you have ever ridden on the shoulders/bike lanes you also know they are full of trash, nails, screws, wire, glass, etc.THEY dont keep them clean. I pay taxes. I also expect people to drive like they have some common sense and care about anothers life..ALTHOUGH I never rely on that. Maybe you should get out of your jap FastNfurrious Autozone decorated 5k$ junk cars and hop on a bike. Maybe ride the roads and see how bad it can be instead of crying like a bunch of millennial self entitled bi&*hs..AND if you are brave enough to intentionally hit a cyclist like one of you lil kids commented....YOU better be real sure you kill him because I guarantee you, that person will give you want you deserve...NOW i wait for the insults, threats, and juvenile backlash..

There is literally nothing worse on the roadways than a cyclist that thinks he belongs with the cars.
You just have to no business being on the road with vehicles that are exponentially larger and faster.

I'm glad I live in West Germany where you can ride a bike in the city with no helmet totally safely. Drivers watch our for bikes and pedestrians in the city. Cyclists watch for pedestrians and cars. Just relax as if your'e walking in a mall or to grab some food. It's not an F1 race out there where everyone HAS TO FOLLOW THE RULES. What kind of world do you really want brah? Just everyone cooped up in a steel cage, driving in a demarcated lane to their 9-5 where no one talks to each other or looks anyone in the eye? The car is your own personal prison. It's ugly, it stinks, it pollutes... we can do better.

Cyclist checking in.
I only cycle on a roller these days in my garage.
I did commute to work for about 6 months (20 mile round trip). In that small amount of time I nearly went under several busses and I went over the bonnet of a car that was being driven by a cig-smoking fat manlet. The absolute twat pulled out on my despite me having a bilion lumen LED lamp shining directly in his inbred face.
Quite why I didn't curb-stomp the bastard into the ground I'll never know.
In short - road cycling is too dangerous because of the brain-dead zombies driving around in their steel coffins.

What damage can a bike cause? MAYBE a skinned elbow or a minor dent.
Ok, where can I pay my $0.0000000005 monthly premium?

99% of the time the laws cyclist break are due to clipless pedals (srs). Its dangerous as f*** to try to clip in while dealing with traffic and most would rather break the traffic laws.
Clipless pedals have no place in commuting in my opinion. In most of the densely populated cycling countries/towns they choose to use cruiser bikes. There are only a few places where the average cyclist feels the needs to wear full bibs, a race jersey and clipless pedals to ride in town....
