My brother is planning on marrying a chick thats 30 years old and hes 26 with a lot of money... What advice should I give him?

I feel like I spent too much time on here and I don't know if the misc is exaggerating about how marriage is bad and how all women are whores....

It's a gamble like any relationship; just higher stakes.

Marriage takes work even if both parties are decent people (no abuse, cheating, addictions, etc.)

And, no, not all women are whores; by which you mean cheaters? Or just evil biches which is a different issue.

Not all men either...I'm sure someone has researched it somewhere and there are percentages or something.

When you're in your late twenties, you'll see. The age gap in real life just doesn't bode well.

Sorry for the delayed response.

I discovered she cheated on me early in the relationship while I was deployed overseas. The trust and respect was gone it didn't matter to me that it happened early on.

9 years together and she cheated the first year (only one I know of) My mind was a mess.

I definitely do think I'm going to stay single for a long while.

Met her in 2005 in high school. She was a friend of mine for awhile but we were not very close.

We reconnected in 2007 and started dating. I had just joined the Army and was sent overseas. I should clarify we started dating when I was on leave so I was only going to be deployed for about another 6 months.

Thought everything was great, most attractive gf I've ever had, best sex not particularly intelligent or funny but enjoyable to be around. You know how it goes.

Before reading that post, I was going to agree with you and say that is why you should date women who are mid-twenties or younger. But after reading that last post, I'm going to say that you're probably getting with these crazy broads because you're nutty yourself. That and you're attracted to it and/or you're a terrible judge of character.

I went on a date with a 44 year old last night, it was fantastic, she was fun to talk to, great career, bubbly etc... totally understood where I was coming from (the general gist of this conversation)

She doesn't want kids, doesn't need to have things paid for etc... loves to pound. This is why you should date matures.

All of this = no pressure to go anywhere, except enjoy the relationship.

Thanks man.

I've learned to absolutely love being alone. I'm not sure I want to share my space or time with someone for a very long time. Which is s good thing because I honestly don't remember how to date. Social cues with women go right over my head.

Damn, sorry to hear that bro. Good news is that you aren't even near your peak or best age.

How did you find out? Thankfully you didn't learn about this after getting married.

Her older brother passed away recently. We went to a storage shed her family had to shift through some things of his, donate stuff or sell stuff etc.

She had a few boxes of things in there, mostly clothes and old makeup. One box contained personal items, very old letters and gifts I had given her, stuff we shared from maybe our first year together.

In the box was a letter she had written to another guy. There were graphic details about what they had done together. Basically sounded like he ditched her after awhile and she was upset about it. Sounded like he was ignoring her and her intention was to either mail the letter or leave it at his doorstep.

I guess when they moved she threw the letter into the same box as our stuff (probably from a junk drawer) and flat out forgot about it.

Date on the letter matched up with our dating. Not to mention she even signed it. Stupid thing to do but considering an 19 year old girl wrote it I guess it makes sense. I found out later the guy (Greg apparently) was 30 years old at the time. That further disgusted me.

You would have thought that I would flip out but it was honestly like someone hit a switch in me. I just shut down. I literally walked out of the storage shed handed her the letter got in my car and drove off. Went and ate at my favorite pizza place and shut my phone off. Then went home grabbed a bunch of my stuff and went to my friends place.

Kept my phone off for 3 days. When I turned it back on I had 78 missed calls and over 40 texts. That's when a hole opened up in my chest and it really hit me. Felt like the last 9 years were a lie but also some weird dream. Like maybe it didn't happen.

I credit my great friends for their help. They got all my stuff out of the apartment for me so I wouldn't have to see her and I just straight up paid the fine and broke the lease. She was on her own after that. Spoke to her a few weeks later more emotional stuff etc etc then finally went NC and even changed my number and email.

Real great advice. Go risk half your earnings/life for a 60% chance of making it work with some girl who's going to run your life because the older ones are crazier..

She said it was so far back she couldn't remember and that it meant nothing and she's been faithful ever since, cried said she was sorry typical crap like that.

Surprisingly she didn't try to flip it on me. But I honestly wasn't even listening plus she was crying so much she was almost incoherent.

Uh I hate this rationalization. If he's neglecting her, she should talk to him about it, and if it's still not enough, then break it off to pursue the other guy.

Agreed.

I wish she would have told me then instead of having me waste almost a decade of my life.

All these years she's looked me dead in the eye with zero remorse. Didn't bother her at all, would have gone to the wedding without telling me. Cold **** man.

Anyways I'm with you 100% on the no marriage thing. Long term relationship sure but I'll never share or risk my assets with another woman again.

It feels as though women dont think with principles in mind. She said it was so far back that it was nothing. What a cop out. The fact of the matter is that:

She premeditated it
She did it
It happened

It amazes me how when it comes down to respect they just retcon things with a "it was nothing". And thats supposed to make it better.

Women never think in principles, they think in feelings. The only way around this is to find a woman that feels bad enough for not telling him, that she confesses. That's why finding a woman with a strong conscience in general is very high up on my list of desirable traits.

It trips me out. The total lack of logic she had, her incoherent babble.

The only good thing from this is that I really enjoy my own company and I care even less about what women want or think now than I did before.

I'll rock socks and sandals to go watch a movie by myself, I've felt less societal pressure than ever before.
