Insured a lady today who financed $60k on a 2017 Toyota Tacoma
Mind was blown when I saw the bill of sale.
$47k for the truck (u wot?)
$13k negative equity from her previous car
$0 cash down
------
$60k for 72 months
I could buy like... 1 1/2 loaded F150 or Ram 1500 trucks for that. Wtf.

I agree that Toyota are priced outrageous... There is a reason why Toyota is the number 1 car manufacturer in the world. Besides that that truck will not lose much of it value when she decides to get a different vehicle later down the road.

You could get 1.5 loaded USED F-150's or Ram's for that. A brand new loaded one is going to easily exceed 50k.

I think i can top that, I work at a new car dealership, This lady traded in a 2006 Altima with $9k negative equality for a brand new 2015 Altima, Car cost $22k new, Out the door she ended up with a $36k car, Add in the interest rate, She will be paying $43k+ for it.

Once it's off the lot it's categorized as used.

My uncle financed a 50K truck + negative equity on previous car, mind you this guy lives in a small apt with 3 other people.
I tried to be nice to him and tell him he's a loser for doing that, might as well get a nice apt if you're gonna pay $800 a month on a truck.

OP i found this rare picture of you xoxo

hehe
On topic thou, apparently the essentially the same thing that caused the 2008 crash in the housing market is being used in the auto financing world to a large extent now, under the assumptions that the auto financing market will not crash - and that even if it did it is not large enough to bring down the american economy with it -let alone the world...

Absolutely blows my mind that people willingly accept a $500+ car payment for 6-7 years. Like, Thats just crazy. Even more crazy when people are renting apartments and chit doing that.

It's good that there are people like this. Because of their constant need for a new, expensive vehicle, a guy can easily make 170-200k/ year selling their old cars, even if they're only 27.
