I've already made the switch.

Both platforms have great phones but I made the decision I'd rather be a part of Google**** walled garden than apple as their is much more hand set choice for Android

I bought a 5s in 2014 and will use it till it breaks. After that I don't know.

Apple were the undeniable innovators at the beginning of the smart phone craze, but seemed to have lost their steam. Maybe Steve Jobs kept them in line more than we thought? They seem pretty lackluster under Tim Cook so far.

Still no new Mac computer announcements this year, I guess those'll be next month?

no thanks jeff, it's even slow when it's new. imagine the lag after a few months.

Also, that's against last year's iphone.

Sticking with my 6s until the 7s. If that doesn't have a headphone jack, I may wait another year or be forced to switch. Hopefully by then android will have phones faster than the iphone 6s in real world usage.

If you want quantifiable reasons, you can just look at the benchmarks here:

https://browser.primatelabs.com/ios-benchmarks/

as for other reasons:
- no lag
- updates roll out quick and everyone gets them at the same time
- imessage and facetime, so seamless
- jailbreaking > rooting (srs)
- look at this video of real world usagehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-61FFoJFy0(brblast year'siphoneblowing outthe flagship Note 7. And that's a phablet, too. Not a regular phone)
- handoff to the macbook pro (lol if you have a non-mac laptop, get one off craigslist for like 40% off instead of overpaying for a new PC laptop)

because of this no headphone jack though, i'll be sticking with my i6s for a while

I'm actually thinking in line with this now, gonna stick with the 6s and wait and see what happens with next years phones before switching

Is this because you can't deal with not charging while listening to wired headphones? Is that a primary function of your phone use?

I understand that it's something some people might find annoying, but Ipersonallycannot recall needing to charge while listening to wired buds (not saying I haven't done it, just not regularly enough to warrant making ANY kind of decision based on it).

Really liked my iPhones but I think I'm going to go back to Android after this.

There is absolutely no logical reason the headphone jack was removed. If they replaced the space with some other feature to make the phone better, maybe I'd be on board.

IMO this is just a way for Apple to increase profits. Adapters, dual adapters, more expensive headphones. Won't buy another one just because of their greed.

its a major inconvenience to those of us who are always on our phones and like to listen to it while working, I have my phone charging while watching/listening to things all the time. doubt they really improved battery life either

It's also out of principle, I'm not gonna pay extra for a dongle cause Apple is greedy and hates me for buying their products

Im gunna switch back from Android. I like my S6 but i quickly realized you cant take a video and send it to anyone without it being low quality and blurry as chit. That's a big problem for me. Bluetooth is cheap so I don't really care about no headphone jack on the IPhone 7's

It save space in the body of the phone making it thinner, lighter and allowing more room for the battery and other components. Its also one less source for possible contamination. I wish they would have lost the lightning port too. I'm hoping that's coming next round

This is such a dumb fuking argument. Of course they're looking to increase profits. Name a company that isn't. I guess your beloved Samsung is a non-profit these days? Are they donating all Galaxy proceeds to the Red Cross? Oh that's right, they're too busy dumping all their profit into fixing the exploding batteries

Note 7 owner here and you can't deny this. Been slightly dissapointed with the subtle lag. Then again, I felt like my Nexus 6p had lag as well as my iPhone 6 plus. I've yet to have a phone that is truly smooth as butter and not have micro seconds of lag getting to and from different apps.

Maybe in 10 years we'll have processors that can make even poorly coded apps load quickly. You'll notice that apps made by the OS maker are always smooth, be it Apple or Google, because obviously they know how to best optimize apps for their respective environments. Unfortunately, most app developers take shortcuts or simply are unaware of how to optimize apps for both OS, so one or the other ends up being faster for the same exact app.

It very cost prohibitive to make a native app for both operating systems, while also taking into account the wide variety of screen sizes and OS versions of Android.

iPhone user but I would NEVER touch a Samsung phone. The interface is horrid. I'd go Nexus way before Note/Galaxy.

Oh, and get ready for it boyos. Apple is just the one starting the headphone jack extinction phase. All phones will eventually be Jack free. It's the only way they can make them any thinner.

Apple made an idiot move with this decision, and I wont be following them in their idiocy.
They dont be bringing the jack back. They could sell half the 7s as they did 6s and still wouldnt admit that something they did was not the right move.

Lol the headphone jack, literally a few square millimeters in size, made the phone heavier and restricted battery size? Come on bro you drinking it. Just lol at these arguments. Thinner phones? The past iphone was so thin it was bending in peoples pockets. I dont want a thinner phone, I want a bigger battery that lasts. Make the phone as thick as my c0ck for all I care as long as it isnt dead before noon.

LOL at people debating phones.

95% of people always end up content with whatever phone they end up buying.

BTW L2evolve...who needs headphones those days? Apple is right, sound simply makes you guys retarded sometimes since you guys rely too much on hearing things.

The problem is not switching 3.5mm to lightning, people can buy cables for lightning or whatever, it's nice to have standardization.

The problem is you only have one ****ing port, so you can't charge AND listen to music at the same time. In your car, on road trips, while sitting at your desk at work, etc, etc. You can only do one at a time, which is a real problem. They should just have two ports on the bottom, one "full" port for charging and one probably where the old headphone port was that is for headphones or accessories. Problem ****ing solved.

Apple vs android is entirely about software. Who's ecosystem do you want, google or apple? The hardware is so fast and advanced now you won't notice a difference, period.

You obviously have no idea how much goes into the design of these things. "a few square millimeters" is a astronomical amount of space, relatively speaking. Not to mention that its a hell of a lot more than a few mm.

Can't you listen via Bluetooth whilst charging?
