Gary Johnson issues statement about Aleppo-Gate.























Also, Gary Johnson's google searches and is trending on cnn/twitter. This may be the best thing to happen to his campaign. He is getting mainstream attention and it is not really negative attention. Google searches for "aleppo" are surging on google as most people do not know wtf Aleppo is.

He may have got himself into the debates with his "mishap".

Asking what Aleppo is and being "well informed" do not coincide with one another.

Media gon media, sure, but that's not nearly the same case here as the 2A example you gave. He literally had no idea what Aleppo was. Funny he doesn't correct himself at the time when it was made clear he was being asked about Syria.

Personally, I don't think we should do a single thing in Syria, but I'm also informed on the current situation over there and certainly know what Aleppo is.

Seems alot of people are happy with who WE chose as the GOP candidate... Gary Johnson is a terrible candidate. Trump is the best, no, but with the right people around him I like where he stands on things. Johnson is just a lost puppy and honestly acts like a cry baby.

People want a 3rd party to contest but your not going to persuade the population to go full 3rd party without having a more moderate candidate take office.....someone like a Trump would help that shift as GOP and Dems hate him especially if he succeeds so I would think libertarians should vote Trump to help push that party shift

He has the lowest approval ratings within his own party in history in the 60% + disapproval. So, most people in the GOP are not at all happy with their candidate.

Again the difference between GJ and HC, Trump etc. If anyone claims HC, Trump, or 99% of other politicians would simply man up and take full responsibility for the flub, you're experiencing a bad case of cognitive dissonance. A thoughtful honest response from GJ. People seem so numb to even the concept of integrity in their politicians these days, a person who has been caught lying under oath (and that's just for starters...) and a a guy who has changed political affiliations five times and done a 180 on every major topic is the better choice? No. Again, does anyone even remember what integrity sounds like? A whole lot like that...A leader willing to not pass the buck on blame when he/she makes a mistake is the type of leader I want vs knowing they will blame it on a speech writer, underling, etc:

Absolutely correct. Trump obviously has as little or less knowledge of situation on the ground in Syria as Johnson, but instead of admitting it, he says he knows more than the generals and has a secret plan to win Syria but he can't share it because then the enemy would know. We all know what his plan is - just keep licking Putin's boots while they destroy the country.

When Trump says something goofy and it's taken out of context by the media (like claiming he made threats to HC via his comments on "2A people" when anyone can see he meant nothing of the sort by that comment) people are quick to defend and (rightly so) point out what lying sacks of chit is the media. When it's done to candidate not Trump, it's OK. Even when it's HC, I still attempt to look passed the media bias and BS to see what's really going on, and my guess is the media had decided GJ a big enough threat to start using its dirty pool tactics, like vids only showing a snippet where he looks like an idiot and nothing about the details he added to the issue once he got focused on it.

GJ is not a perfect human being nor perfect candidate, but he's more honest a person on his worst day than Hill-Trump combined, and that carries some weight for me. Your mileage may differ.

All I can say is, you don't get to have your cake and eat it to, and when the media costs Trump the election due to using an ever increasing number of ill thought out statements to take him out, don't bitch.
Didn't Trump add, "which would be unfortunate" or something to that extent to the end of his 2nd Amendment statement (the full audio clip wasn't played in the media often)? What would be unfortunate? That 2nd Amendment voters voted against HRC? Why is that unfortunate for Donald Trump?

I do think there was some sinister intent behind his statement, i.e. vague references to assasination.

I think what he said was "that would be a horrible day". That was the part that made the whole statement questionable to start with. I mean, the dude sitting behind him had the look like "did he really just say that"? If he reacted that way, I don't see why it's surprising that others did, too.

Nothing I heard sounded like a vague threat. People hear what they want to hear. Typical of Trump, it could have been worded better for sure, but I heard no threat, but more important, don't think any vague threat was intended by his statement.

But we decided to support and arm dem "moderate" rebels which forced the Russians hand. Assad is a POS, but like most dictators he keeps his area stable and was a secular government vs zealot muslim loonie. Trump plans to send 30k troops you recall so Trump seems to have no plans to go non interventionist here and let the Russians deal with it. Do you want 30k boots on the ground to fight ISIS? I'm not thrilled with that idea.

Russia hasn't been targeting ISIS at all. They're assisting the Syrian regime (that is currently dropping chemical weapons on their own country) against the groups that most seriously threaten the regime, which are mostly the US and Turkey backed "rebels". I'm OK with scaling back our presence in Syria, especially in terms of arming various rebel groups, and just targeting ISIS, but I'm not OK saying we should be aligned with Russia to prop up a brutal dictator.
