If he would have initially sincerely apologized, like he didafterI yelled at him, then I would have just told him not to worry about it and it's no biggie.

She is just throwing a tantrum because she is a spoiled brat used to getting her way. Same as when 7 yr olds throw tantrums so you'll just say 'ok fine just stop screaming.' If anything, once she started freaking out he 100% needed to follow through. I am glad he started recording too. People like this need to be exposed. Pieces of chit.
I'm inclined to believe they were both shouting at each other in the beginning, just like she said, but when he took his phone out, his demeanor changed drastically to give the impression he wasn't upset and he did nothing wrong. Seeing as though we don't have that part of the video, we can only go on when he decided to start recording her.

That being said, this was something minor that could've been solved right then and there. The vehicle wasn't new, so it's not like he NEEDED the scuff fixed. Looks like it was dented and had hella scratches on it from the part he showed, so it's not like a little orange mark is really a deal breaker for that vehicle. They could've exchanged information and he told her, "Hey, let me take it a shop and see what the estimate is.....", that way, it doesn't go on her CLUE REPORT and the mark is taken care of with little to no huss and fuss. Kid was clearly at fault as you saw the orange mark, but that's less than $50 for the repair. Did he REALLY need that? Probably not. They're not going to take the door off, repaint it, buff it and put the sh** back on. Buff, paint match, come get your car.

Once again, it was an accident, he made a mistake, but it could've been handled differently. Get her insurance information, just to be on the safe side, ask her if she's cool with an estimate at a local shop, pay out of pocket. If she says no, cool, you got her insurance information, make the claim......let them talk to you.

That's what I would've done.

Based on what we saw in the video, there was ZERO chance of her being cool with that.

Also, personally, unless I know the other person I would never just handle it amongst ourselves and take their word they will do the right thing to cut them a break with insurance or whatever. People are scumbags and it's not worth the potential hassle.

You never know. Like I said, the recording only starts after she's upset, so if they were going back and forth yelling at each other, then no....but if they were cool, calm and collective beforehand, more than likely an easy fix.

Well, I used to do insurance for a living, so I'm the type to make sure my bases are covered. Taking a picture of your plates, your insurance information and then I'm going to record us talking about you I fixing the damage you caused. If I try to reach out to you and you don't reply, no fukcs given....I have your insurance information and I'll just make the claim. And, I have video evidence as well, so you can't lie.....I'll just make a copy for the adjuster.

I would prefer to do you a solid and not have an at fault accident on your driving record, but if I had to do it, fukc it.....my vehicle is getting fixed one way or another.

It absolutely is. That's why some people have mics on their dash cams as well. To record the interaction outside of the vehicle as well.

We have them in our company vehicles.

He already admitted to it. Feel bad for the kid. Trying to do the right thing but is discouraged by his bum ass mom. He's probably gonna turn out scummy because of her. Growing up with the victim mentality and "that's how white people do us."

The guy said in the video that she refused to give him the information and the vehicle had no plates on it. I think that prior to this lady flying off the handle they confronted her about the situation and asked for the insurance info. Judging by this ladys actions in the video I would think that she instigated a disagreement after being asked for the insurance info.

Even though this woman states they were shouting at each other I have a hard time finding any credibility from the raving lunatic, she accepted responsibility then denied it, she states the child's age as 3 or 4 different ages, she was very inconsistent with her statement. The man recording also states that there was a witness available. This lady could have calmly gave the insurance info and asked as a courtesy if the "victim" would give her a chance to pay cash for the damage. The lady in the video has the liability to right the wrong. The guy recording does not owe this crazy lady anything.

Then he had to put up with a crazy lady at that. His ditch attempt when realizing he done phucked up was recording it, so good for him.

Agreed!! Just from my perspective she was throwing up a smoke screen of Bull$hit in an attempt to cover up something shady... stolen car? No insurance? who knows...

Had the opposite happen I guess about 6 months ago. Was backing out of a parking lot space in my SUV and at a very slow speed I hit this black ladies car, rear fender. Now I did dent it a lil bit but her whole back end was jacked from previous another accident. I offered to give her some cash which she agreed. Gave her like $300 which is what I could get out of the ATM at the moment and she was happy as hell w that.
