Not for shooting, but that was our policy in the Boy Scouts when we'd go camping- leave the site better than we found it. We'd build fire rings or improve a trail. At minimum we'd pack out the garbage left behind by previous campers.
Nowadays, honestly, I feel like Cpt Planet if I remember to take a garbage bag to take away our plastic bottle targets (16.9oz water bottle is a pretty cheap reactive target).

Anyone here with a sub-$800 AR-10 build? I'm in the market for a .308 plinker/defense/300-yd hunter rifle thingy semi-pew pew machine.

Lol at trying to spend less than $800 on an AR. If you're not spending at least $2000 you might as well not even bother.

And the ridiculous heat that you have to sit out in.

I turned down some UF vs Kentucky tickets this weekend solely because it was too hot.

Yea not buying that argument. Many people at the range shoot sub $600 5.56 AR-15's at 300yd @2-inch groups. $2000 Ar-15's 1.5@300yd.

Most people cannot outshoot their rifle. I probably couldn't either.

Yeah, back in the days of being a college student doing to the football games there were a few August/September games on the bleachers in the full sun that were just absolutely brutal. Would not do that now.

Yeah...that was a joke.

BTW if you are even a tiny bit competent a more accurate rifle/round is still going to end up more accurate on target, because math.

a 308 AR is not a AR15, and trying to get a decent rifle for under 800 will not be the easiest task. Probably only the ugliest DPMS options come in under there, but whatever you buy via factory build or built yourself, the barrel will probably be a sewer pipe

Why are you asking about rifles at a time you can't click links to sites that sell rifles?

Go back and open it later.

It's a stripped down Colt 6920 for $779 shipped that will need a stock, handguard, rear sight/optic, and for some reason it looks like trigger guard (lol) also.

I've posted my three AR10 builds in this thread and listed the parts in previous threads. The closest you will get to that price is a stripped base DPMS Oracle if you can find it on sale for around $800. There are some Bushmaster XM10s floating around for about $1,000. An Aero if you can find it should start at $1,200. S&W and Colt discontinued their AR10s I believe but those weren't near $800 anyway. Every other make starts at 2 grand. Any base AR10 will need hundreds of dollars worth of upgrades to be comfortable and fun to shoot, but you can upgrade piece by piece.

Guess I am too old for that now. I like to take my boys to the games to let them experience it. Every time we go though we have some sort of 'bad experience'. Too hot, people too drunk, or people dying around us. LOL.

Only go to 'big games' and only when it is not so hot.

GJMM, especially if it's a public area that's free to shoot on. The logic is flipped for some reason. People treat private pay-to-shoot ranges far better than when they shoot on free natural ranges.
