This is true.

i have the sapphire, i just got it about 2 years ago, i want to get the reserve but im not eligble for their bonus since i just got the sapphire bonus (3 years between bonuses ). I just got a British Airways card for their bonus not knowing this, and chase cucked me out of my points.

I just use the card on normal purchases I am going to make anyways. Bill paid in full every month, reward points stacked. Free trips/flights. Life on easy mode.

I have never heard of or experienced this. I have 4 Chase cards currently and have had a total of 6 different ones all in the past 5 years. Gotten bonuses for all

Chase sapphire also gives 3x the points on travel related expenses. so any uber rides or....travel related expenses.....after that first annual $300 freebie...he gets $3 cash back for every $100 spent. brb airfare? brb hotel? brb dining? brb brb brb


if you remotely do things with your life and dont LDAR every day, this is very easily worth it.

how is getting $2K-$40k a year in benefits being cucked? I pay like 600 annual fees across my cards and in return I get the upper end of that benefit range (point value equivalent).

OP, thinking about picking up the reserve next year. Put hotel and airline spending on their specific cards (better return) and everything else travel related on the reserved. hnngg

just got mine yesterday.



with this 100,000 sign on bonus I'll have around $2,600 in travel rewards through chase (i have a sapphire preferred prior)

Also, I was looking at some resorts in playa del carmen and another thing about this card is that if you book with the card you will get free upgrades, free gifts, and other cool ****.

Like I'll get a free massage, an upgrade to a king suite (if available), and a welcome bottle of wine if I go to this one resort. They all vary.

um no one spends that much on cards. If you can't pay for it in cash then don't pay for it at all.

Always get a 20-30% discount by paying in cash each time. (airplanes/hotel etc). > measly 1.5%

Do you live in America?

It is very rare you get a discount for paying cash. My cell phone company does not even accept cash payments.

depends. you fly one or two specifically? I stick to alaska and marriott so I use their cards for their expenses. But their points for non-marriott/alaska spend isnt good so thats where other cards come in.

I have zero interest in Amex benefits (except for the very high end cards. Not platinum). Not a single benefit appeals to me. Already have an amex everyday card and their point redemption blows so it's all about the non-point benefits with the Plat. centurion lounges? No thanks. would rather use a better lounge or restuarant. Gold status with hotels or airline? I'm past that already. Customer service? Nah, I want points and thats where the Chase reserve is juicy right now

What? I redeemed a $25,000 emirates flight this year with alaska points. I still have 400K alaska miles left. I can pay for it cash. do you even credit card?

discount for cash? yeah ok, I'm sure you're getting a discount on that online shopping and airfare by paying "cash". What does that even mean? With a debit card? Great plan.

the ones I would look at that are not airline specific are
chase sapphire preferred/reserve
barclaycard arrival plus

if you fly with one particular airline or stay at a brand of hotels you could look into other cards....though Chase you can transfer points 1:1 to united southwest and a few other loyalty programs so I think that's why this card is so popular.

This is hugely valuable if you travel a lot like I do. Make sure you get the Global entry too and not the TSA PreCheck. Global Entry gets you TSA PreCheck but not the other way around

Apply right away too. The application isn't hard or time consuming but it can take a while to get an interview with CBP

why do people call AMEX a credit card. it's not. you have to pay the balance in full every month. at most, it is a a month credit card.

Just stopped in yesterday and got approved in the branch on the spot for one. Should be here in 5-7 days. stoked fam. it will completely cover my airline trip i need to book the moment it gets here lol (going to san diego in less than 2 weeks).
