I have been trying to retire since 25 as well. Always making plans "retire by 30, then by 35, then 40..." So far no luck. And with time I realize that I don't even want to retire, just have more free time.
Wify is now studying to be a registered dietitian. So I am excited with the prospect of trying to build a business around that.
Want to invest in real estate as well, but know very little about it and don't have the right agent. I tried a few years back a few times and found out that in order to get a good "deal" you have to be in real estate yourself or have a very close fiend as an agent, who will call upon you when a good opp shows up. Otherwise you are picking up scrubs. Since I don't have time or an agent - I am kinda stuck.

being an entrepreneur isn't easy. I have been self employed for almost 15 years. I have been wealthy and i have been bankrupt and homeless. Every waking moment of my life is either working or thinking about work. I never know when more business is coming. I don't have a set paycheck. I don't get income tax refunds. etc. It really sucks at times as there are good days and bad days. today has been a crazy roller-coaster from great news/excitement to just awful and wanting to blow my brains out. But I wouldn't have it any other way. I sure as fuk don't want to slave away making someone else rich.

I think being an entrepreneur is something some people have the skills for. being a bad salesman doesn't help. However, my passion is about understanding and solving problems in my field. As long as they pay me good for it I'll be happy. I'll also save some money and when everything gets boring I'll open a restaurant somewhere in the world.
Now something to think about is that every entrepreneur I know are some *******s sharing quotes on social media, asking for people to join in pyramid schemes and dressing elegantly.

when you take a bunch of random numbers from almost any distribution* and add them together, you will get something approximately normally distributed. The more numbers you add together, the more normally distributed it gets.

its a matter of time. how much time will you waste trying to become an entrepreneur. some people make it, some don't. logically if you're pursing a degree at the same time then thats good to have a backup but usually this isnt the case.

I built/own/operate a few popular websites that i continue to upkeep, optimize, and ideally grow/improve. Everything i do is related to building websites and attempting to have them gain traction, then if they gain traction i continue to do everything myself/make them grow. So programming/internet marketing/basic server upkeep for webhosting related stuff to keep it all stable/legit and secure/SEO/web design/etc. Not a pro at it all, but pretty well versed in each field, allowing me to innovate ideas/identify market gaps, and actually make it, then try to grow it. das it mane.
as you're well aware, this chit fluctuates. so while things are going very well right now and id be super stoked to make half this for the rest of my (working) life, i simply know thats likely not going to be the case. so what i do now is a) try to increase those earnings duh and grow the current sites and b) build/increase new unreleated revenue streams so im less dependent on the current ones in case any tank for any reason.

You just need big cojones my friend. Understand that friends now probably once be your friends once you made it because the don't have the balls to move forward and do what they want. Hence the 90% hating posts on this thread. Not to many people have the balls to try and almost nobody has the balls to fail and try again. Its a select few that can do this. Its lonely at the top, people will drag you down , spit on you but if you put your mind to it you can do anything.

it's not for everybody, some people don't like that uncertainty
brb working every waking moment for at least several years
brb 80% chance of failure and working hard for nothing
brb having to take loans and having angel investors to help bail you out
I think the number one thing you need to have, obviously aside from some business savvy and being able to communicate and network with people is passion. You need to be VERY passionate and hungry about what you are doing and absolutely believe in what you are trying to push. If you aren't, you aren't going to be able to put in the work necessary, you aren't going to be able to deal with dark times and you are just more likely to give up and it was just a colossal waste of time. Having the motivation is a very key factor

Nobody wants to be an entrepenuer, what everybody wants is mad cash in the bank, F U MONEY.
If you don't need to spend 12 hours a day working to achieve it..... then don't. No medals for working stupidly hard.
This is why its better to get a decent job first, save your money, invest in property and slowly build your empire over 20 years or so.
Eventually you'lll have enough money coming in you can retire early.
This doesn't take much effort, a little reading in the evening, some time at the weekends.
Never start a high risk business that takes crazy work. Decent job is the best way to start.
