This, was almost 2 months of absolute chit skin when I started treatment (different product though) and then starts clearing up. Though judging by that pic OP I think you need to get on accutane for a permanent solution. That chit works miracles.

I had all the normal side effects like dry lips, skin etc. even made my dink dry. Dont know if it was from the accutane but i swear my dink shrunk arounf the same time i got off the drug but i doubt youll get any of that. good luck

As others already mentioned, get phukkin accutane. It looks really bad even now and if you want to avoid pernament scars then I'd get on tane ASAP. Cleared me up really good, I still have some scars tho (Started fading tho).

Killed my gains and mental health tho, at some point I even considered suicide because of some minor chit (Won't go into it, but it really wasn't that huge of a deal). Don't take it when you're feeling depressed already, the last two months were the worst for me.

To add to this thread: If you shave and have acne, use a double edge razor instead of cartridge razors. The double edge razor will eliminate razor bumps and is much better for your skin.

This may have been pointed out already, but it is worth reposting if someone is out there suffering bad from ingrown hairs and razor bumps.

Skip the lemon juice until the marks are healed. It's true, with your skin turning over cells slower you are slowing the healing process.

For red marks you want to be careful about avoiding prescriptions that can kill bacteria/yeast. That can cause a new kind of acne post-Accutane. Also very common.

Instead, try a Vitamin C serum and Hyaluronic acid. The acid is a humectant and will hydrate your skin while the Accutane dries up the oil and reduces keratin production. Afterwards, use a little bit of Sudocrem to aid the healing process and reduce redness.

Sudocrem works on all minor cuts, razor burn, and burns. It can heal skin, but also let it scab over very quickly. The skin underneath will then heal.

The only way any of this can harm your skin is by using too much sudocrem, which is comedogenic.

It only runs about $4.

Is it fine to use the vitamin c serum while on accutane? I understand accutane already makes you sensitive to the sun so I put in sunblock any time I leave my house, but winter is coming so it's going to be cloudy and dark real soon. Plus I'm indoors most of the day anyways.

I've been using the acne.org benzoyl peroxide for about 2 years. It helps, but I wouldn't use their moisturizer. Their moisturizer made things worse. I also use the benzoyl peroxide only once daily, and only in the evenings or when I know I won't get a lot of sun. Otherwise, the benzoyl peroxide, which is very sensitive to sun exposure, will make your face very red. It takes months for it to be 90% better. I'm not sure how to rid of the last 10% to be honest. I'm trying probiotics for the remainder, which is still very rare for a pimple to pop up.

Your face has to be extremely bad in order to be prescribed accutane. You have to get special permission here in the U.S. Ask a dermatologist if you can get it, but it's expensive. Good luck

Edit: OP taking accutane. Never mind

Hmm, maybe my razor is making me breakout. I mainly only breakout on my cheeks and jawline, which I believed to be hormonal. Almost never get a pimple on my nose or forehead

Did your acne leave behind red marks when the actual cysts were gone? For some reason whenever I have a lot of acne they leave behind red marks that take a long time to go away.

Thinking of using something topical that can help get rid of the red marks faster along with accutane

went on accutane 2 months ago, only 40mg a day no higher, zero sides except dry corners of mouthSOMETIMES

had my initial huge purge, hurt like hell, face 100% clear now and shoulder as well, back is healing up now

edit : my backne was the kind that would wake me up in the middle of the night, had to wear undershirts because of the blood/pus, , all my tests have come back perfect since starting accutane and everything is cleared up, my back is just healing from some spots that were bad

OP, wait 3 months on accutane before worrying about potmarks and red blotches. Just let it do it's thing.

I've had acne since 12 years old. Now 44...still have acne. Was on accutane when I was 14, for almost a year. Did clear it up, but when I got off it, acne returned, but never as bad. Worse side effect was severe dry lips. I mean, lips literally cracking open and bleeding. Stay on top of lip balm.
I'm not blessed with riches, but I am rich with blessings.
Thank you, LORD, my God.

Of course. The Accutane will take care of treating acne, but that doesn't mean you can't use a couple of things to help out with hydration and skin tone.

Just stay away from cleansers and acids.

Luckily most of the acne is going away now and it's mostly red marks now,

The new pimples I'm getting seem to go away a lot faster now

Dermatologists hate Accutane. Accutane should be the first option for someone like OP. Other methods would never work and they know this. They just want to milk him for as much money as possible then put him on accutane anyway...

"Last resort" my ass. Why resort to methods that arent effective when you could have done accutane from the start?

Wait bro are you already using accutane? Heard that can bring some long term side effects, I forgot of what. Also, up your veggie intake, start drinking vegetable smoothies and juices. Eat a lot of fruit. Look up more alternatives so that you do not have to use accurate or some other prescription that will only treat the symptom, not the cause. Look up The Amazing Liver Flush by Andreas Moritz, (rip) his forums contain quite a few people who suffer from ailments etc. and owls when suffer side effects of accutane. Good luck

Also, **** derms. Brb creams and pills for every symptom

I'm tryin to eat more veggies and fruits now. Trying to get 180 fluid oz of water a day too, and adding in lemon into my water to detoxify my body.

People also suggested lowering dairy intake but I tried that and it had no effect on me.

I did notice though that when I was on zinc I got acne less frequently and the red marks didn't last for long.

But the zinc I was taking jumped from 6 dollars a bottle for 33 dollars a bottle cause the company went out of bussiness so I stopped buying it.

I'm sure it's been stated many times in this thread but get on that accutane time. It was the only thing that worked for me. I've only experienced minor long term side effects, would still say it was worth it.

OP don't fall for this! I did too and have to remedy the situation. Just because its cloudy and dark doesn't mean there isn't sun and you won't age faster. Since your skin is more sensitive due to the accutane as long as its daytime hours and theres clarity (IE SUNLIGHT) you wear sunscreen no if ands or buts. It's a terrible misconception and I don't want you to deal with two issues after accutane (hyperpigmentation and rough nasty skin). With hypopigmentation that comes off after a while with skincare but rough skin is lazer or bust.

This. There seem to be more and more docs out there every day who refuse to use what works and prefer to "work you up to" what you need which is BULLCHIT! I'm a firm believer in doing things right the first time and eliminating the problem fully. At least down here if you go to a quality hospital (which there are 2) there is less bs about prescribing the 'tane.

I had moderate acne from 18-24, just took Proactiv and it helped for the most part. Around 25 it all cleared up and now at 31 I started breaking out in one part of my upper cheek/temple. Diet hasn't changed either, **** me

So are you saying don't use the vitamin C, or use it but also wear sunscreen? Cause I'm already using sunscreen every single day, any time I leave my house. Cause usually for me hyperpigmentation is the biggest problem since I get red marks and they contrast a lot with white skin.

Vitamin C is up to you but sunscreen should never be out of the question. Vitamin C is GOAT though for skin I have to say.

It's a terrible misconception and I don't want you to deal with two issues after accutane (hyperpigmentation and rough nasty skin). With hypopigmentation that comes off after a while with skincare but rough skin is lazer or bust.
This is true. You still need sunscreen when it's cloudy. The only time you're safe is at night.

If you want glowing skin in the meantime you'll have to start eating beta carotene for healthy skin. Here is a list. Tomatoes aren't on the list, but if they were they would be right around #11.

Lips starting to feel dry, might have to buy chapstick soon. Other than that pretty much no side effects
