Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Jill Stein failed to make the cut for the first presidential debate on Sept. 26, the Commission on Presidential Debates announced on Friday afternoon, in a significant blow for their campaigns.
Though Johnson and Stein satisfied two of the criteria necessary to participate – that they be constitutionally eligible and have achieved ballot access in a sufficient number of states to win a theoretical Electoral College majority – neither met the threshold on polling.

Let's have the two main parties make a debate commission, then they will set difficult thresholds so that we they appear to be open, yet pretty much guarantee a lock on never having a third party appear.
Have the League of Women Voters do it like they used to. Now we're stuck with a low substance insult-ridden debate.
Union Strong. Workers are stronger together.
The GOP is a criminal organization who despises the middle class and working poor. Name one policy they have pushed for that increased worker pay, union strength, or worker influence in a corporation.

Interesting:
Today this newspaper does something it has never done in its 143-year history: endorse someone other than the Republican candidate in a presidential contest.
Since its founding in 1873, The Detroit News has backed a Republican every time it has made a presidential endorsement (three times we have sat on the sidelines — twice during the Franklin Roosevelt elections and in the 2004 Bush/Kerry:

And:
The Detroit News endorses Gary Johnson, abandoning Republicans for first time

Dude, Gary Johnson is a fukin retard. You're a smart dude, idk why you can't understand that.
This was not a "trick" question like some of you Gary nut suckers tried to claim the Aleppo question was. He flat out could not name a single foreign leader.

No, It does not have win written on. I think he'll still pick up the same % of votes he would have at this point regardless, just as I don't think that debate with Trump and HC changed any minds at this point. He's strong on intent and honesty and big picture Libertarian ideals I tend to agree with, short on details when called on and has a brain freeze and terrible on his feet.
HC was far better prepared for that debate in terms of cool collected details (many of which were incorrect...) than trump, especially during the second half, and it didn't make me any more interested in her than before. Hence, yes, would help goofball dingbat GJ to be sharper on those issues when called on, but be it a few too many bongs hits or age, or he's just not good in that area, but it does not change anything on the larger picture per se. I will tell you during a big seminar in front of 300+ people, I had a total brain lock on a topic I know in my sleep and that's a bummer.
Johnson at least has more actual governing experience than either combined and has not been a serial flip flopper, etc. It's not about GJ at this point as it is about GJ vs Trump vs HC.Given those choices, and those are the only choices we now have,. I agree with The Detroit News...
It's very simple:
Drump is a pathological flip flopper, narcissistic tool, with zero moral core it appears
HC is a criminal and corrupt to the core.
GJ is a goofy SOB who has brain lock and sucks when it comes to being put on the spot and some wacky ideas and some decent ideas.
Of those the three, I'd still take the goofball.

Johnson is a decent guy who has held executive office and did a good job. When he screwed up, he owned it and said "you should be paying attention to this, and I should be doing better". He didn't blame his microphone or a conspiracy. He's proven in his personal life that he can navigate the world and get things done. I see this as superior to both of the major candidates. He may be terribly weak on foreign policy, and that's not OK, but he was a state governor. If he won, I'd be happy to buy him a subscription to The Economist myself and have him up to speed by the inauguration.
Getting me to vote for someone else would require a major character scandal on Johnson's part. Burning down a kitten orphanage, raping nuns, chasing a toddler with an aluminum bat. Even then, I'd probably just write in Batman before I'd vote for Trump or Clinton, because I'm *CERTAIN* Clinton would flambee a bunch of orphaned kittens if she thought it was the only thing between her and the Presidency, and Trump and Epstein probably dressed their teenage sex slave up like an infant nun and snorted ******* off her ass at some point and then stiffed their slave broker.
Nah, fukk that. I’m not doing that.

I used to have a lot of respect for you Will, and always took what you said about fitness, nutrition and even politics seriously. But holy fuk your support for Gary Johnson is unbelievable. The man is doing more harm to the libertarian movement than anyone in history. You need your head looking at, mate.

Making no decision is worse than making the wrong decision. Would I have a brain fart in front of a large crowd or while on national television? Perhaps. But I'm also not running for fukin president.
I'm not sure how Trump is a "serial flip flopper", especially when compared to Clinton. Trump was/had liberal views in the past, sure, but were they not decades ago? Clinton is the complete opposite candidate from 2008 to now, that's a serial flip flopper.
Gary Johnson is NOT a choice. He has just as much chance of being elected as either of us. You should just write in my name, it'll do the same as voting for him.
I'm curious if Johnson's open border policy is considered wacky or decent by you.

Something funny happened with Jill Stein, though. She's the Green Party candidate.
Jill tweeted out some people she liked as foreign leaders to make fun of Gary Johnson but all the people she named weren't actually leaders of their respective countries.

It's amazing the double standard applied here. HC, Romney, etc all total flip flippers who can't be be trusted, but Trump, "that was a long time ago" and "He changed his mind" two favorite excuses.

And another:
A principled option for U.S. president: Endorsing Gary Johnson, Libertarian
The Chicago Tribune endorses Libertarian Gary Johnson.
"As Nov. 8 looms, a dismayed, disconsolate America waits and wonders: What is it about 2016?
How has our country fallen so inescapably into political and policy gridlock? How did pandering to aggrieved niche groups and seducing blocs of angry voters replace working toward solutions as the coin of our governing class? How could the Democratic and Republican parties stagger so far from this nation's political mainstream?
And the most pressing question: What should tens of millions of voters who yearn for answers do with two major-party candidates they disdain? Polls show an unprecedented number of people saying they wish they had another choice."

Yet another paper endorses GJ:
Even with Johnsons gaffes, he remains the sanest choice for president over Trump or Clinton
Coming off the recent endorsements by the Detroit Free Press and the Chicago Tribune, Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson remains a practical alternative who shares the same values as many Americans. Johnson is beating Trump with the number of major newspaper endorsement. Whereas Johnson has had three recent missteps on MSNBC, he has been racking up major newspaper endorsements and American support for his candidacy continues to grow. Johnsons most recent misstep was expertly spun in his favor when he couldnt come up with a foreign leader he looked up to.

Good read here. Any undecided voters out there needs to read this. It may far closer than people imagine, which (obviously) neither major party wants you to be aware of.

Many Governor Johnson supporters have seen a map where a win in New Mexico keeps Clinton and Trump from winning an Electoral College majority. As someone who wants a Gary Johnson |Bill Weld administration, that map sets a terrible tone since it may lead Johnson voters outside of New Mexico to think their vote doesnt matter.
Johnson Victory What Does it Take?
What do you think it would it take for a Johnson victory? Obviously, some people who currently lean towards Clinton or Trump would need to vote for Gary Johnson. Would each Johnson supporter on average have to convert 2, 3, or 4 people? My first guess was 3 people, whats yours?
I based my analysis on the following:
* Washington Post poll of 74,000 voters conducted in August with state-by-state results.
* Analysis of polls from Real Clear Politics that show Johnson and Stein are drawing 38% from Clinton, 32% from Trump, and 30% from Other. The ratio of Clinton to Trump is 54% 46%.
* The Quinnipiac poll of Sep 14 reveals historical voter dissatisfaction with both major party candidates. Among Clinton voters, 54% say they mainly are voting against Trump. Among Trump voters, 66% say they mainly are voting against Clinton. These voters can be swayed to a different candidate.

It's disappointing. He didn't exactly say vote for Hillary, but he did implore people not to elect Trump, which is basically saying that if you have to make a hold your nose vote instead of voting for him, make it for Hillary. He's being realistic, but he's also not helping the LP cause. Staying over 5% to make it easier for a better candidate next time is the top issue for me in this election right now.

Plus, I don't think Johnson is nearly as pro-Hillary as Weld is. Weld has spoken of her as a personal friend on a non-political basis, so it's not surprising he has more of a preference between the top 2.That's pretty much what I expected.
