everyone in every car forum complain they want honda/acura to make ricer sports cars like the 90s and they finally do with the type r, now everyone complains that it looks too ricer and kiddish

Some of the big ricer thing is to customize and make your car different. Now you have an extremely expensive civic that comes pre riced out and if you want to make it stand out from the others, you have to remove all of the stock body kit chit and replace with your own. The age segment that this car appeals to wont be able to really afford this car. The only saving grace is it will probably be in pretty limited production so a few grown up guys who have always wanted another R since the 90s and can afford it will be enough to buy them all up.

It looks ok and will no doubt be a very reliable long lasting car. But the problem is its a Honda Civic. AKA one of the most common cars on the road. It also bears a resemblance to a Prius from the side.


It'll likely be a popular car with the ricer's.

The problem is if you are at that stage you aren't going to find a 'new' car that meets that with a low price tag. Personally I find Lexus is that entry level classy/appealing car. But there really aren't many others that I can think of.
