The weird forecast models suggest that it will ricochet off the Carolina's and go out to sea. It's possible it will go south and come back and hit FL again. It's just all strange.
Facts and common sense defeats ignorance and drama.

Actually newest models show Matthew ramping off of the elevated land and shooting into space. It will possibly cross paths with the International Space Station, which would be catastrophic, but it's too early to tell. We are most likely looking at a cyclone hurdling through space situation.

I don't live in a storm ridden area, but I keep at least 1-2 months of food on hand since you just never know. Just my protein/food bar stash would keep me going for a good while:

Ready to hunker down. Got a ton of rain over the last few days so it's defiantly going to flood in my area. My wife and I are gonna wait it out until the eye passes since she's on shift at the hospital tomorrow/Friday and I have to lock down my plant before the storm hits. We went ahead and shut down production for the rest of week. Got gas, water, and bread ready. Not looking forward to the widespread power outages that I'm sure will happen. Lost power for over 2 days when Hurricane Hermine last month

Stay safe guys

Yeah real talk here, fill your bathtub with water and try to go find any food/batteries you can. Could be a legitimately rough time.

New Smyrna Beach checking in. We're going to be evacuating early tomorrow morning. It looks like the eye is going to be moving straight over us and it's just not worth the risk.

Goodluck brehs. Have a nice hurricane party and then just ride it out. Then get ready for clean up/rebuild (unfortunately)

The toughest part about evacuating is not knowing. Like we evacuated for katrina and riding back home and seeing the destruction the day after, was just excruciating. Trees everywhere, chit all over. Big ass tree is blocking the main road of the subdivision. Guys out there getting ready to cut it up. Having to run about a mile to the house to see if it's still there and seeing all the wreckage.

I'm in north Florida and when my wife kept telling meabout the hurricane I thought she was overeacting, that is until I went to home depot to buy a shop fan and saw everyone buying plywood like crazy. They also bought out all the D batteries.

I'm like, damn looks like a I need a generator since I have a newborn in the house and cant be without power for long but ALL the fuking genrators were gone, same with Lowes and Harbor Freight.

Originally there was no evacuation order given for my area (Im about 15 mins from the beach), but now they gave the order that everyone in my county needs to evacuate.

So now I dont have a fuking generator, but at least I have water and food. I live in the country sorrounded by tress, not sure if thats a good or a bad thing, but hopefully nothing bad happens.

Many Christmases ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way.

Hurricane Matthew is a monster storm. Now it has a monster image to match.

A sinister image of Hurricane Matthew, resembling a human skull, has lit up the Internet. The creepy satellite photo was posted Tuesday by Weather Channel senior meteorologist Stu Ostro as the hurricane made landfall in Haiti.
