I bought an Aero Precision AR pistol. I pick it up in ten days.

I pick up my 2 lowers on Friday.

I scared my buddy into buying 3 lowers and a 6920 because of the pending election/CA law changes.

i just got so much nostalgia. i remember my dad got me those for my 7mm before an elk hunt when i was 14. i was captivated by the name "trophy bonded bear claw" i thought it sounded alpha as fuk lol

The "bear claw" kept popping up on m14 forum posts from like 10 years ago when I was looking around for reviews of ammo that doesn't dump out all it's velocity. Ordered the trophy bonded as the reviews said it gives an ok expansion but drives right through large game with a clear exit channel. I must've missed the "built on bear claw platform" in their advertising but was pleasantly surprised when I turned the box over and saw that.

Also, the m14 posts recommended Nosler paritions, or trophy bonded, and avoid soft point for bears.

For a SHTF round that could penetrate auto glass and still maintain good stats should I just look for a standard soft point round and avoid Sierra Match King or other match hollowpoint tips? SGammo has Speer 308 LE, the only thing special about it seems to be it's a soft point, would a Federal Vital-Shok with a Sierra GameKing bullet be comparable?

.308 has no fuks to give for things like auto glass, it's whole M.O is to turn cover into concealment.

I've never fired a fullsize with a flash suppressor but recoil and follow up shots are really manageable. Mag insert/removal took some getting used to, but being a lefty all it's controls are perfect for me and I'm not getting a mouthful of gas with every shot.



I was making this 4x4x4 cube dance at 50 yards. I'll need to hit the trails real early to get a spot at the 100+ yd shooting pits but it's iron sights are great and I didn't have to adjust the front sight at all.

Have a serious question. My AR bolt today didn't seem to have enough power to push a round into the chamber about one in every 15 to 20 shots. I'm running a JP silent capture spring and Low mass bolt carrier. It would seem like the cartridge would get halfway into the chamber and then I would have to re-rack then it would slide it in nice and easy. Would you first mess with the gas block or would you change out the buffer spring for a slightly heavier one? My initial thought was to put a slightly heavier spring in the buffer but I just want to know if anybody has any different opinions. Thank you

I have a bull barrel rem 700 chambered in king .308, 1-8 twist, leupold mrk 4 optics. tac driver at 600.

Guy who made it also made some shotguns for G.W.Bush Sr.

Wellllll, I would just run a mil spec style bolt carrier group and likewise on H buffer and standard mil spec action spring...****ing around with low mass carriers and crap just asks for having to screw around with it to make it run reliably

Fair enough, and I normally do however I'm trying to build a rifle for my 10-year-old child that has as absolutely little recoil is possible. He does pretty well with the 22 from a bench and I'm trying to make a rifle that he can shoot off of the bench on arrest that will slowly break him into shooting larger caliber's. This is about fun and enjoyment not necessarily about absolute reliability.

Believe it or not, it makes in a Big difference and the gun shoots without hardly any recoil but I'm just trying to troubleshoot this last little bit.

And I'm sure you will Neg me but that was a pretty a aholeish reply considering you didn't even know why I was asking for the advice.

You asked us what we would do, without mentioning why you didn't care so much about reliability, and that's what I would do.

Generally the assumption is that reliability is more important

I didn't ask if I should put a different buffer in it or go back to stock, I asked for advice on whether or not it sounded like a spring problem or a gas block problem.

The general assumption is that when you start changing what the manufacture did, you'll have more problems. I like taking apart rifles in screwing with the insides of them to see what will happen. In this case, My job is to build a safe and fun gun for my children to learn on. I'm just looking for advice on whether not I should tear down and change the recoil spring or if it sounds like more of a gas block problem.

Today we were shooting a 10 1/2 inch suppressed, sub 2000 suppressed, 40 and 9 mm suppressed, and an A.R. pistol I just built which got absolutely dirty as crap after only a couple of magazines. To the point actually where was nonfunctional. Maybe you have more experience with weapons that I do but I was just hoping for some friendly advice.

Good food on the grill, guns,and cigars. Tonight is the last night before I start the application process for the police academy. The next six months will be all about discipline. So, I'm going to enjoy it.

Spent some time with my Pop's M1 carbine and British .303. Pulled out the Glock and a couple of top shelf smokes. Call me happy.

This is my only gripe with my 7.62......GOOD ammo is just insanely expensive

I have to put in the application. If I get the spot I'll probably start in January and be in academy 16 weeks. It works out pretty well. My wife might have to adjust her schedule to cover my kids intersession at school. Otherwise, it is gravy. The bonus is I'll be getting paid the whole time. I just need to get my running times in order. I can pass the physical abilities test without a hitch. Right now I'm doing a 13 minute mile. I need to pull off a 11 minute 1.5 mile by May.
