Update: Recently was biching about the impossibility of the mag release on the XD9 sub compact I had. A couple drops of lube on the whole mechanism and it's worlds better. Surprised that it made that much of a difference and that it wasn't already lubed from the factory. Either way, that solved it almost entirely.


Question: Have you ever hear of anyone having any kind of leather allergies? I had a bad rash exactly where my holster was sitting. I'm not sure if it's the holster itself or if I somehow got something on it that causing irritation. It's a Comp Tac MTAC with a cow hide leather backing. I've worn it several times before and don't believe I've had any issue with it. But a couple weeks ago it developed into a very red, slightly painful, and pretty itchy rash. Doc says it's contact dermatitis, which I think could be either allergens or just irritation from rubbing. Wore the same holster yesterday in more of an appendix position to let the back side heal completely and today I've got a mild redness and itch on the front too. So something is clearly up. But having worn it before without (noticing) any issue, I find it hard to believe it's the holster itself. Unless maybe it just took some sweating on it to bring out whatever irritant was in it? Only other thought is setting it down on a table at a friend's ranch a couple weeks ago, perhaps it could have picked up something that was on the table? Any thoughts? In either case, is there any way to wash it or something and make it usable again?


Taf: What generation brace and how much are you looking for? Buffer/spring included? I was originally thinking about going with either Shockwave or Thordson, but a little curiosity never hurt anyone. Fuk cats.

It's pretty common to look like that at any range with a ceiling/top, or walls, or a floor that shows impacts. Outdoor ranges are at least as bad there just isn't something there to capture a record of the impact.

Unless you are going to Afghanistan (doubt it) or a top tier competition shooter, I doubt you are going to utilize most of those features. I LOL when people trick their guns out with unnecessary gear when most will never use that stuff. Its just to be a fanboy to be honest. Even most cops won't use that stuff (exception is SWAT). Past the necessary stuff like sights, stock, and charging handle, most people don't need crap like a tactical light, laser, lighter trigger, multiple scopes, bigger foxtail, bipod, etc. Its even more a moot point when talking about internal differences that won't effect most people. Face it, how many civilians need a tactical light, let alone arbitrary stuff that more expensive weapons feature? How many people will honestly shoot 10K rounds through their weapon? Most civilians won't be crawling through the mud enough to truly test their weapons either, and face it, most of the people who buy these weapons aren't Spec Ops or LE.

I just needed a straight out the box gun with a rail system that is reliable, will pass an armorer's inspection, and is accurate. If the M&P15T is such a piece of ****, then I'm sure it wouldn't have made it into several police mags praising it or be used by major depts. I've hit black with way worse guns in the military than the one I just brought. Same with my pistols. I'm just as accurate with the Glock in the pictures I posted as I am with the stock one my dept issued me. At the end of the day, there's going to be little difference between the way these AR15s shoot. I'm not just talking about the BCM and M&P15T either, but a majority of the brands out there. All in all, I'm pretty sure I'll be happy with my purchase and I don't let BB.com'snion dictate my purchases lol.


People on here are way too gun snobby. The M&P is a solid product and in use by multiple agencies around. In the hands of a good shooter, its still gonna go "bang" and hit just as accurate as a Bushmaster, Colt, DD, BCM, RRA, etc.

All ranges look like that. It isn't from "misses," people just don't think about the bullet goes after if makes a hole in the target.

If a 5ft woman(hnnngnngngnngngnggggggggg) follows directions and hangs a silhouette target under the black line and shoots head shots at 5yrds, that will put marks on the ceiling at 25yds. She didn't "miss."


EDIT: the range in the pic is short, lol at the shooters that go there

Not sure what generation it would be . . . bought it in Aug. 2014 during the Labor Day sale when they were popular. Worth about $195 at the time, but I paid about $170. I'd probably let it go for $100 or thereabouts--haven't really looked recently to see what they are even going for anymore. It has the KAK pistol tube, buffer spring, spacers, Sig Brace. Worked pretty well the few times I shot it (without shouldering it, of course).

For some of those holes, you'd have to be laying on the ground and shooting at 5 ft. It's just a 15 yard range.

If they were somehow interactive I could see how that could be kinda fun, but you would have no idea what you were even hitting (or not hitting). Might as well just be mag dumping at trees in a forest.

They are those "paint" type targets, but after probably thousands of rounds through them, they were worthless. Especially if you're trying to get a feel for a new pistol.

We used those little pumpkins as targets instead of the dummies.

I've never had any issues with the regular Speer Lawman stuffs. I think WWB is the only 9mm ammo that has ever given me a problem.

I still prefer fast, transition shooting on steel targets with pistols (I don't really know what to call it), but sporting clays are really growing on me. I'd like to try shooting trap again now that I've got a better understanding of leads and shot patterns. The first few times I ever went I was absolutely terrible.

Citori 425 crew! Sharpest o/u ive shot/owned.

Trap & skeet is my fav. Then doing doubles in trap. Olympic trap is nuts! Smaller and faster harder angles, rounded bird harder to brake. There is a 15-17 year old chick at my club whos in the jumior olympics. She crushes!

I like hand tossing clays myself. Throwing it is hardered then shooting for me.

You just have to shoot 27's. 16 is meh. Then try doubles in trap. Still think its easy go olympic trap.

Your 1st olympic you will hit 5/25 if you're lucky.

may have been user error, I have blasted many 100s of their stuff and never had an issue. In fact I bought more last time PSA had a sale.

Only other thought is setting it down on a table at a friend's ranch a couple weeks ago, perhaps it could have picked up something that was on the table? Any thoughts? In either case, is there any way to wash it or something and make it usable again?

You could just wipe it down with some water or alcohol, I doubt a one time wipe down would do any real damage, you could wear an undershirt, or you could cover the back of the holster with some moleskin or something.
