Got my FOID card a few months ago and went to the range for the first time about 2ish weeks ago. Definitely going back and getting my conceal once I come back from my school trip.

I was looking at different guns and really liked the feel of the canik. I'll be going and trying out multiple guns next time to figure out which will be my first purchase; I would preferably be choosing my first gun as one that I can carry after I get my conceal and carry license.

Just bought my first stripped lower (spikes). Looking for a Bcm parts kit but do not think I will be able to find one.What would be your suggestions for quality parts?

clarification: I mean talk with people who oppose gun ownership in a way that would bring them into the gun community so they do not want to pass that type of legislation, obviously you can't reach everyone, as people by nature disagree on many things. I have a Canik, and love shooting it, but I wouldn't recommend it for concealed carry. It's a little large for that purpose.

Calm down. No need to get out the torches and pitch forks. I dont know what the plan of action is because it hasn't come to that point yet on a federal level. I have written emails to the govenor of NY about their changing gun laws because I have family there that is affected by it. Other than donate money to the NRA, what else can I really do for another state on the other side of the country?



Edit: If you want a stripped upper better hurry up and buy(no panic). One of the yuuugee distributors(might be a forger?) in Florida was rekt in the hurricane and is out of business for an unknown amount of time. I'm not ganna bother saying who stamps their name on their uppers but there are quite a few different companies

Well besides what you did, I think the only thing we can do is urge them to be more active in a political sense, support legislation or legislators who will help the cause. and by help I mean more than just writing emails or donating money. Reaching out to independent voters through forums, being active in the community, volunteering time. if you want real change it takes real work, not a bunch of complaining on the internet.

Spike's makes great LPKs. Get a Spike's kit, a Magpul trigger guard/grip, and a Geissele trigger. The Spike's trigger is fine to start with, although mil-spec triggers are terrible compared to Geisseles.

So I guess it is better to buy and separate the parts then getting just a all one one complete LPK kit? I appreciate the advice.

Most LPKs are going to come with a grip and a trigger guard. Some LPKs come with magpul stuff already, and some come without a fire control group.

An "LPK" does not necessarily include a fire control group aka trigger. Most people buy a complete LPK but many will buy a deal that comes with the FCG they want or buy the FCG separately, and most will also get a specific pistol grip they want and not use the standard A2 grip many LPK come with by default.

The most important thing for the lower parts to avoid cheaping out on is the FCG.

That is why i figured the BCM kit is the best bang for the buck. Problem is I can not find it anywhere. I appreciate the advice from you and Ikeman.
