do agree that risk assets are expensive vs historical but cost of money (interest rates) alone is not enough to drive bubbles of that magnitude

This could be even worse though if Donald legit wants to change the system and mess with The Fed. Market has also been forced ramped for months now to create this false illusion that everything is wonderful to help Hillary. They are going to freefall this thing although agree, 2000-2002 saw the Nasdaq lose almost 80%, that will never be repeated short of an actual apocalypse.

There was never a 400 billion market cap company with no earnings- see Amzn. Take out Aapl and see the same multiples.

See hussmann for the value of stock market currently

if Trump wins it ll get precious metals up, dollar wil drop, stocks will go down as well. short term until things become clearer, the thing is noone thought he was gonna win, so if he wins that blurry future view of the markets are gonna have hard time.
235pounds to 168 in 4 months. 35% BF to 19% and counting lower every day. it is doable as long as you put your mind and soul into it and discipline. We all are going to make it.

Also the reason Hussman has been wrong is the scam fed has been running, also 2009 change in accounting rules. You cant build a healthy economy with zero percent interest rates and constant debt and almost no savings.

Broken clock is also right twice a day. I def agree that quant easing does inflate financial assets to a certain extent but the psychology behind bubbles goes much deeper than low cost of funding; if i think i'm going to get a 3x in one year, I won't really care if my cost of capital is 1% or 10%. We saw that kind of thinking with new age dotcom companies and US housing + related derivs

Are you trying to prove my point? :-) yes we saw that thinking until we didnt, you cant say that when your possible president says market is in a bubble and he will go after the fed is a good thing for the market right?

mkt is not 100% overvalued today is all i'm saying (that's what you implied with 50% drawdown).

wrt to fed, what exactly is the mechanism you see causing a crash there? it's not like trump can suddenly tell the fed to cease and desist, eroding central bank independence is a concern but that is more of a slow burn and a crash inducing trigger

Pschology, fed being there was a huge support for the market. The thought of easy cheap money. Crashes usually dont stop at 10%, as hussmann says the profit margins are going to take a hit eventualy and wont be at these high levels. Also the banks are probably still bankrupt if the 2009 mark to market accounting changes were reversed.

All the chit I ever recommended on this forum (check posts) in the past 10 years have been at least tripled. From gold, silver, bitcoin, palladium to now rhodium.

Market dips every election...nothing new here.
