Bb.com is making the same mistake the NFL is making.

In trying to expand to new members they are neglecting their base.

Sure, cleaning up the language etc on the forum might make it more attractive to women who join the forum and may buy a supplement or two. But it has alienated people who have been here for years and would provide a more constant revenue stream (in terms of purchases and site activity )

So bb.com and the NFL havr traded in a reliable fan base for the hopes that a new user might stop by.

Obviously a terrible mistake. And we are seeing the outcome

People invest their time, energy, thoughts, etc on this site via their forum account. Then many of them get pushed away by both the mods and community for a million and one reasons, negged for differing opinions (even though the post may still be of quality.)

Then the mods/admins here ban people for the dumbest ****. Mod negs basically wipe out peoples acquired reps.

I think this guy makes a valid point. An involved community can work both ways.... people may develop a large loyalty to your website via forums and reputation which can help keep customers, but at the same time if they feel they were treated wrong on an online community it may have the opposite affect--they may leave and never buy again with a bad mod rep/ban/etc.

Moral of the story is this, BB mgmt team is a bunch of lil queer boys who love tugging on each other's acorn peckers while getting a thumb stuck up their asses. Mod reps should be like 10-20% of the power they are now, and should be geared towards more frequently repping high quality posts, or posts that bring a ton of lulz. I feel like before the mods were always in on the lulz with us, and now it seems they are waiting in the shadows for one questionable thing in order to shut it all down.

As its been stated before, 90% of misc'ers dont purchase products from BB.com

So your argument holds no water that they are trying to make it more family friendly to appease people.

The real reason that the forum is dying is because the site no longer directly links to the forums and can hardly be found, depressing the rate of new comers vs people leaving and getting banned.

Misc really is pretty funny but its also typically overgeared by people spreading hate, which ruins misc and makes it a bitter place.
