This lifting = life or death motivational BS has got to stop

Lifting is a luxury, recovering with good nutrition and adequate rest is a luxury. It's not some life or death struggle. If you want that go to 3rd world Africa and see how much you care about making your rear Delts pop you *******.

I can see it in competitive sports and even lifting sports like weightlifting, power lifting or strongman where the huge loads can injure or kill you but this YouTube fitness "the hardcore struggle of lifting" **** has got to stop

Can you imagine in ww2 if we had YouTube, would people be making fukking montages of the Normandy landings? We have it so fukkin easy nowadays that battles of narcissism are seen as battles to the death.

Does this **** bug anyone else?

It has gotten to the point where nearly everything makes me cringe. Motivational videos, T.V., commercials, co-workers' comments in the break room. EVERYTHING.

It's so bad

People are acting like they're checking into Auschwitz for a few hours on a gym trip. Like it's some super hardcore suffering experience.

Lmaooooo this. Used to watch Guzman back when he was actually fun to watch in 2013. Nowadays, every fukking video of his has to have some kind of cheesy motivational component to it.

Been in this game for maybe 10+ years and made some great and noticeable gains. To me, it's a beginner kind of mindset to get you in to the routine of getting to the gym and eating right. All these sponsored people hype it up for some kind of financial gain. For me, going to the gym everyday and controlling eating habits is normal and I don't need quotes, videos or any of that bs to get me there.

At some point, you gain a balance between getting progressively stronger/ripped and doing actual meaningful things in your life. Lifting doesn't need to be your entire life, that's boring as ****...maybe not to you, but to the people around you. It's on the same level as people who smoke and it's all they fcking talk about or want to do.

It's cool to be a fan or enthusiast about something...but there's infinite possibilities available to most of us in the free world and you're really just going to place all your bets on this one thing? You really can have more than just that in your life.
The Jerk store called, they're running out of you!

I'll stick to my gsp highlights, my Brian Shaw highlights, my cael Sanderson highlights buddy boy.

Real motivation from people who really pushed the limits of their sports, that never bitched or moaned about how hard it is or made it out to be some life or death struggle. People who are humble and showed up and did work.

How is being some ungrateful, out of touch narcissist bettering yourself?

cringe at these kinds of videos. I am all for people motivating themselves but when you need epic music and will smith talking **** to get you to do something you probably don't want to do it anyways.

How is starting a thread on the misc saying these type of videos have to stop supporting him?

I'm lying in bed beside my girlfriend, don't be salty, quit putting that pussy on a pedestal and they might like you too.

its true.
I'm now in snap city because of it.

But you know its just a mental reaffirmation thing, where if you can perform well at the gym you assume it transfers to everything else. and it kinda does, but you can end up ****ing up your joints if you don't play it smart

Brb, lift till you puke
Brb, it's a marathon not a sprint
Brb, a man should not grow old without knowing of what his body is capable

Brb.... all these "hardcore" *******s do is pick up a weight and set it down, then take a 5 min break and repeat. It is not "hardcore." The only "hardcore" thing about this dumb trend is the amount ofcringeI have to endure on a daily basis listening to this crap

99% of the people in gyms don't even break a sweat while in the gym. I'm always bewildered because I seem to be the only one actually putting in work while everyone is on their phone taking 20 min breaks or talking in the squat rack for hours at a time. (Except for the hot girl with an insane squat booty that I have a crush on)

everything is way overblown these days, and everyone has to let the world know exactly what they are doing at all times. Turn off your cell phone once in a while and appreciate life before you grow old
