The NRA can't really do anything for Cali until is starts doing something for itself . . . namely, politicians need to start losing their jobs and their majorities. But not likely to happen at this point. I think the pendulum swung hard left and is there to stay. It's a losing battle to pour money and resources into fighting anything in that state--pretty much everything passes in a landslide. And now you have the voters passing initiatives themselves, not just potato state legislators.

I wonder if that means the action is that good or they just thought it would work - I'm looking at bolt guns and sorta wrote the American off bc it feels so flimsy and cheap. but, if the action is good, nothing a stock swap wouldn't fix - and still prob be cheaper than most "mid range" bolt guns

Should be able to just put another bolt through it that fits, if you have one handy or can just go pick one up. Pic of one side of ours is below.

On the seal, there is usually an adjuster on the opener motor for the stopping point and the force. Should be able to use a screwdriver to just adjust how far down the door goes before it stops.

I don't but I learn everything from Youtube anyways. Is it just a standard bold you could pick up at Lowes or Home Depot and install?

California is a lost cause. A conversation yesterday with someone from Sacramento made that clear. She's a white, college-educated, middle-aged stay-at-home mom. She wasn't just in favor of more gun control. She was horrified by the thought of law-abiding citizens owning and carrying guns. Horrified.

And she had nothing to back up her opinions. I predict she'll vote for every gun control measure on the ballot, and the most anti-2A candidates too. And she knows nothing about gun ownership. Conversation ended when she was told to educate herself, and she said that we'll have to agree to disagree. Lol.

A poster on ARFCOM had the right idea. All California gun owners should move to Colorado and make it a red state again.

Thanks for the pic. I think I can just push the door down and attach a new bolt to it so it looks like yours (it currently does not).

post pics of the box that controls the door where the motor is. it could just be that the lever that disengages the motor is actuating a little earlier than it should cause the stopper is hitting it early.

Guy I am working with on a project worked & lived in San Diego for 9 years for the same company. Guy and his wife went to Boise for some fun on the rivers, returned from his trip and said F*ck that was fun lets move there and do that every week. Quit his job of 9 years that month and moved to Boise. He's been there ever since, said he loves it.

Icing on the cake: The job he quit offered to let him work from home after they had difficulty replacing him...so he's back working for them again.

Business partner sold one of his ranches here (farmer) and started traveling to places to look for a good place to re-invest the money (he wanted nothing to do with Cali). He also fell in love with Boise and ended up purchasing two commercial buildings. Because he wouldn't shut up about how nice it was up there, my wife and I took a little weekend trip. What a nice town. Seriously. People are nice, town is clean, and still big enough to have all of the amenities needed. I'm going to try to push my daughter to go to school there when the time comes.

What's up guys. I am about to buy my first gun in the next month or so, haven't shot a gun since I was young and hunting with my dad. I have never shot a handgun. I plan on starting by taking 3-5 classes at my local gun shop where in the 2nd and 3rd classes after you learn basics they take you out to the range and let you try out a bunch of handguns.

I am trying to start a list of guns to try out so when I do get to the range with an assortment of guns I know which will fit my needs and are quality guns. The plan for my first gun is that it will be mixed duty between CC (once I take the CC class after training in the other classes), home defense, and fun. Because I want to put a ton of rounds through it to get comfortable I think a 9mm makes the most sense (correct me if I'm wrong). Price range is anything under $1k, and I am 6'5 and around 220 pounds so I want something that'll fit a larger hand comfortably but still be concealable on a larger frame.

S&W MP 40 cal (I know not 9mm but a friend swears by it)
HK VP9
SA P229 (friend said it's on the bigger side for a CC gun)

List like I said is just so I have some guns to check out and shoot once I get to that stage. First class I plan on taking isn't until January 3rd, so it probably won't even be until the end of January that I even start looking to buy one

If I could only have one gun it would be a Glock 19.

ETA: VP9 would also be right up there. 9mm is the right move no matter what.

I would choose the same. It would bemyGlock 19 of course, lol

I could also make do with a Glock 26, sometimes I even think I would choose it. Kind of depends on the time of year you ask, and how often I go somewhere I really want to conceal/what I wear

That seems to be a majority of the opinions I get. My most experienced friend as far as guns go said it might be a little to small for my hands to handle well. I'm obviously going to try it out anyway since everyone seems to love its versatility.

Later on I do plan on buying more guns, I just think for now it makes the most sense to have just one and spend a lot of time with it. Ideally I'd have a gun for home defense, for CC, and a few for fun, but that is years down the road most likely

I absolutey guarantee you can find a person with identical views as her in all 50 states. Not sure how that's any indication of anything. Cali gun laws/politicians is an indication, not your conversation with a single person lmao wot
