Most know the climate is changing. History tells us the climate changes.
The problem is they're using climate change to push their commie globalization agenda.

Its Al Gore's fault that its been politicized even though its been an issue far longer before he gave a phuck about it. Remember Ferngully? Remember Captain Planet? Remember saturday morning cartoon PSA's?....memberrr?Those movies shows and commercials predated Al Gores"Super Serial"global warming movie in the early 2000's where he basically talked out of his ass about the climate getting warmer because of what he experienced from a day to day basis in front of his house while giving hair-brain solutions with no basis in reality.
Then there are people that actually believe the data, but don't think its a big deal because they don't understand the gravity of 1/10ths of a degree change or centimeters rises in ocean waters. They don't think it effects them, but there are people who are effected by it. Polynesian islands like Tuvalu and Kiribati that have been around the tens of thousands or years (basically as long as people have lived on the islands/known they exist) are literally sinking into the ocean because they are at such low sea level. Somehow these islands have managed to survive for thousands of years, but only recently they are being projected to cease to be inhabitable by 2050 and completely submerged by 2100.
I think that even if we have had absolutely no impact on the planet it can't help to at leasttryto do something about it. I'm not even going to scroll through this thread, but I guarantee someone is bitching about either falsified data or the fact that the name was changed from global warming to climate change.
Falsifying data is what happens when a grad student is desperate to get grant money to fund their project so they can have something to research for their PhD. The mistake of one group of people can ruin it for everyone. Now people are crying wolf and saying EVERYTHING has been fake all along (spearheaded by the Alex Jones crowd).
The name changed because after further research with newer and better equipment it was found that the climate is changing differently around the world. There are some places that are getting warmer but there are also places that have become unseasonably cooler year after year. Names for things in science change when new data is released, there is no conspiracy behind it. STI's use to be called VD's (Venereal Diseases) because scientists in the 19th century came to the conclusion that sexually transmitted infections only came from the womens vagina. They were later called STD's because back in the early 20th century, when you got something like chlamydia, there was no cure for it. Now that we have means of repressing and in some cases completely curing them, we call them STInfections.
There's really no point in trying to debate this op, people are fixed in their ways, and they'll never be proven wrong because before it starts to impact them they'll be long dead.

I believe that climate change is largely natural, not to say that we don't contribute but who knows the reality of how much we actually do. Around 3% of CO2 levels in the atmosphere are directly from us or something, but who's not to say that we change the Earth indirectly, and on top of that who's to say that those changes are necessarily bad (global warming would cause large swathes of Siberia to become arable to a degree, and the planet has complex mechanisms to sustain life so we have to really try hard to mess it up). But in the end, I think we need to control our impact on the environment as a responsibility for being the sentient species of the Earth. I think we should care more about actively preserving habitats than about speculating and theorizing about climate change.
What's your opinion tho op?

climate has been changing since day 1
I don't think anybody denies that. What they deny is that whether humans are significantly responsible for it or not.

Over the course of their investigation, Greenpeace posed as the representative of a Middle Eastern oil and gas company and an Indonesian coal company. In the guise of a Beirut-based business consultant they asked William Happer, the Cyrus Fogg Brackett professor of physics at Princeton University, to write a report touting the benefits of rising carbon emissions, according to email exchanges between the professor and the fake company.
Also, in an email exchange with the fake business representative, Happer acknowledges that his report would probably not pass peer-review with a scientific journal the gold-standard process for quality scientific publication whereby work is assessed by anonymous expert reviewers. I could submit the article to a peer-reviewed journal, but that might greatly delay publication and might require such major changes in response to referees and to the journal editor that the article would no longer make the case that CO2 is a benefit, not a pollutant, as strongly as I would like, and presumably as strongly as your client would also like, he wrote.
He suggested an alternative process whereby the article could be passed around handpicked reviewers. Purists might object that the process did not qualify as a peer review, he said. I think it would be fine to call it a peer review.
Greenpeace said its investigation demonstrated how, unbeknownst to the public, the fossil fuel industry could inject paid-for views about climate change into the international debate, confusing the public and blocking prospects for strong action to avoid dangerous warming.

There is literally zero proof that climate change through the direct input of man exists. the earth does in fact go through stages of cooling and heating naturally though.

I don't believe in MAN-MADE global warming. I believe the earth is going through a natural warming period, from the last mini ice age.
This is how I see it, people claim that the earth is warming due to excess CO2 being released into the atmosphere from our doing. But here is my problem with that, before and during WW2, our CO2 production was the highest in human history, the parts per million of CO2 in the air was far greater than then it is now. But the temps were cooler back then?
IMO climate change is just a buzz word used by politicians to sway voters.

I'm only using my own brain's logic here, so to anyone that wants to argue with me, keep in mind that I'll be happy to consider what you may have to say.
But the industries that started pumping green house gasses into the atmosphere have only been around for, what, 200 years or so? I know the industrial age was in the 1700's but I don't think they had what it takes to burn coal enough to affect anything.
Industrial age might contribute a sliver to the graph.
Ok, if we can see a drastic change in the past 200 years, then yeah I get that.
But look.
10K years ago....wtf? It's a stupid thing to bring up.
No difference between 10K and 5K years ago, and if there was a difference there, then we can see that it's no big deal, right?
