Favorite pistol lights?

Is 800 lumens too many lights for a pistol?

I have a gift card for Bass Pro Shops and was thinking about putting it towards either a light or a sight. They have the Streamlight TLR-1 HL there that I was considering. If not that then I will likely grab a Vortex Sparc AR. Thoughts?

Also, what are the differences in 124 vs 115 gr and which is better?

I canceled an optic mount I ordered from them a few weeks ago because of that. They had the best price around for it but then sent me an email saying it would ship in about 4 weeks.

Many instructors will tell you that there is no such thing as too many lumens. I'm not really sure I agree, but I also don't use a weaponlight on my CCW, I still use a handheld. If Surefire would up their XC1 to at least 350-400 lumens, I'd buy one of those.

I run a X300 Ultra on my primary HD rofl, and it's pretty good in my house, without being so bright that the reflection off the walls blinds me. I also have a TLR-1 on my Sig P220, it's pretty decent.

I saw at least one video with the guy saying the same. I think it was titled "all the lumens". His reasoning seemed sound enough. But that doesn't mean that splash back isn't a thing still.

Yeah, I'm considering the light for more of my HD/truck gun and/or duty* gun. CCW probably won't get one. Don't know if I'll start carrying a handheld though. Dunno. My brother has the x300 ultra on his handgun and likes it. Would have to shop elsewhere if I go with that.

That video was probably Aaron Cowan, Sage Dynamics. I took a one day vehicle class from him, and he's a solid instructor. I know he is all about the lumens, and I agree when it comes to a handheld light, but not necessarily a weaponlight. With a weapon, I want it pointed where the threat is or might be. I may or may not want my light pointed there also.

I carry a handheld if I'm going to be out after dark or going to a movie or someplace that's not always well lit. I tried carrying with the X300 on my G19 but it was just too damn bulky for me. I would probably buy an XC1 now and put it on my G19, but they don't make an Eidolon that is light compatible yet.

800 lumens is too bright for inside IMO. Too much washout. 300 lumens is PLENTY for indoors IMO.

Originally ordered trijicon night sights from them. It was green rear, orange front. Received an email informing me it would be about 2-3 months before shipping. Nty

deers is scary mane
Would be funny to see someone come into the ER with a decapitated deer head stuck to their chest.

Sometimes they just put your whole car on a flatbed though and transport you that way.

Yep, that's him. And I agree. His points were a lot of times basically not pointing directly at a wall you're close to, but if it's attached to my gun, at least some spill over may not be avoidable if that's where I believe the threat is.

Do yourselves a favor and watch this Joe Rogan podcast, the guest is Jordan Peterson. Peterson says many profound things in this podcast, I'm being dead serious. Very powerful, you will not be disappointed.

Rogan's podcast overall is very good, it really just depends on who the guest is. There are many guests that I don't find that interesting, but for roughly every 3 guests I don't care for there is 1 that is well worth it.

Another podcast that I listen to is Jocko Willink's:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkq...BFNFho6JgygCnA

http://jockopodcast2.com/

These are 4 of my favorite from Jocko's (though I have not heard all of his podcasts yet):

http://jockopodcast2.com/2016/09/07/39-brave-men/
http://jockopodcast2.com/2016/09/21/...civilian-life/
http://jockopodcast2.com/2016/10/26/...ting-and-life/
http://jockopodcast2.com/2016/02/24/...ssons-learned/

Two good politic focused podcasts that I also like to listen/watch:

Gad Saad:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLH...PLieCVaHA7RegA

Dave Rubin:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJd..._5saZYqLCa9mng

Though Rubin's is more of a talk show and some of his guests are retards.

Yes. I don't listen to every single JRE, but I listen to most of them. Also, BananaHammock and his dad do one called The Burn Pit, it's pretty good.

If you like sportz, try Pardon My Take. Pretty hilarious.

I have a gift card for Bass Pro Shops and was thinking about putting it towards either a light or a sight. They have the Streamlight TLR-1 HL there that I was considering. If not that then I will likely grab a Vortex Sparc AR. Thoughts?

I may or may not want my light pointed there also.

I carry a handheld if I'm going to be out after dark or going to a movie or someplace that's not always well lit. I tried carrying with the X300 on my G19 but it was just too damn bulky for me. I would probably buy an XC1 now and put it on my G19, but they don't make an Eidolon that is light compatible yet.
That's why nobody has ever claimed a weapon mounted light replaces your carry handheld flashlight. Well, Pin would probably say a photon freedom on your keychain replaces both, but other than that

And don't buy an XC1
