Near? no way. We're more likely to see HPA passed before importation ban is lifted and that's years off too. My $0.02 with no sauce to support it.

Well, I wouldn't say NO ONE has, but I get what you're saying. I just don't want to carry both.

You had issues with the XC1, right? My brother has one and loves it, hasn't ever had a problem, but I'm also pretty sure he hasn't used it very hard.

And don't buy an XC1
Over the past 6+ months that I've been carrying it, I've put about 500 rounds through my CZ P-01 with attached XC1. I have had no problems with the light. I know that you have had problems with the light. Both of our experiences are anecdotal.

Is there any other evidence/reasoning (such as a report or a study) that you posses which compels you to dissuade people from buying the XC1, other than your own experience?

If you have a few hours a day to devote (or one long trip) Dan Carlin's Hardcore History is probably the best podcast produced:

http://www.dancarlin.com/

These are great (might be the best in the genre), scientific and usually about 30-40 minutes:

Those are what I listen to, in that order. Sometimes (depending on guests) some rogan goes in there, but I listened to that for two years straight while working a job that had me driving 40,000 miles a year. I am a little burned out on the style.

Completely different things to carry both for actual use and because they go in completely different locations...pocket vs mounted to gun inside of holster.

I had problems with my XC1, I had problems with my "repaired" XC1, and I was seeing symptoms of the same problem with my new replacement XC1.

Looking around during all this I found too many other reports of problems with other XC1's.

Hell no.

Yes I am carrying a TLR1 HL now when I carry the VP9, and want a second one to permanently attach to G19

I'm going to thoroughly analyze and criticize your reasoning for how you prioritize what to EDC and what not to EDC...

not srs

My EDC gun has a XC1 on it, the only other light that I carry is a Streamlight nano light, it works pretty damn well and is tiny. Perhaps consider it:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkq...BFNFho6JgygCnA

http://jockopodcast2.com/

These are 4 of my favorite from Jocko's (though I have not heard all of his podcasts yet):

http://jockopodcast2.com/2016/09/07/39-brave-men/
http://jockopodcast2.com/2016/09/21/...civilian-life/

Two good politic focused podcasts that I also like to listen/watch:

Gad Saad:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLH...PLieCVaHA7RegA

Dave Rubin:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJd..._5saZYqLCa9mng

Though Rubin's is more of a talk show and some of his guests are retards.
Jocko's EP11 was great with Leif, talking about their sht. Last weeks (EP53) was a brutal discussion of the Korean War/Chosin reservoir.

I still find it amazing the only reason that Marine division didn't get over run on the withdrawal was because the fuking Chinese troops maneuvering on them at night froze to death 100 yards from the marine lines.

The one he did with Tim Kennedy (UFC fighter, fmr Green Berret, current bad ass) was outstanding:
http://jockopodcast2.com/2016/05/04/...ces-ufc-chaos/

The recent one with Tim Ferris was (surprisingly) good since I am not a fan of Tim's podcast (discussing lots of dark times and failure):

Start with Dan Carlin's 5 EP series on WWI (can't recall the name). Its about 25 hours in length, broken into 5 podcasts but its probably the greatest podcasts ever created (100% srs). I know it sounds daunting, but its like discovering a great show you like on TV...then netflix and binging it...the time flies by.

If you want to give it a trial run, listen to "Logical Insantiy (https://player.fm/series/dan-carlins...nsanity)...itsonly 2.5 hours and one episode long.

I think a lot of people are getting a lot of hopes up high about a lot of pro-gun legislation. I'm not holding my breath on any of it...not even for the HPA that seems to be the hot topic recently. It's possible that I'm just drawing a blank because I'm an absent minded idiot, but what was the last real bone the Fed tossed us for guns? Allowing us to carry in national parks 6 years ago? Allowing the AWB to sunset 12 years ago? Heller 8 years ago from the SC that just supported what should already be obvious?

I don't know...srs question, is there something I don't remember?

I first heard Jocko on Sam Harris's podcast (side note: Sam Harris is alright, but man he comes off as a pretentious **** a lot of the time. I don't agree with everything he has to say, but I try to hear differing opinions). I then introduced my good friend to Jocko's podcast and that friend has watched most of them. I end up watching the Jocko podcasts that my good friend tells me Ineedto watch.

I definitely have a lot of catching up to do. I just don't drive enough these days (mostly work from home) and so it's hard to listen to them. When I listen to podcasts I like to be able to focus on what is being said. For me, the 3 best scenarios that I can do that in is:

A) When driving a car (I can listen well while driving, but can't talk and drive for **** lol)
B) While laying in bed preparing to sleep (some people read, I will either read or listen to something), but most of the time I choose something entertaining to listen/watch when going to sleep.
C) Sit and listen/watch on the couch/at the computer, but not do anything else.

Okay thanks. I was at DEFCON 4 there, but I have now issued the stand down order.

(Dry and weak) Humor aside, I didn't think you were srs... idk it's just that when I post on MFC whilst I am also working, my "work" tone sometimes bleeds over to MFC. I need to be very precise in my thinking/arguments and communication for my work.

Damn it Farley, I knew you'd reply. I was hoping you would actually tell me an example that I didn't know of.

To answer your question though, I believe the first 4 years of Bush we had Republican congress in both houses and an R in the White House. How pro 2a he was, I don't know...but even so, with 4 years of R control, you'd think we would have seen a couple worthwhile things. Even narrowly defeated pro-gun ideas would have been nice.

Our hopes of "this time being different" fall on a guy who has in the past been a Democrat himself, had never really shown a stance on the 2a one way or the other (I would guess that a hardcore supporter of the 2a as he claims to be, there would have been evidence of this in the past), who already appears to be taking some steps back on other stances and the fact that he SAYS he explicitly believes in the 2A exactly as it's written. I'm hopeful that some of the good guys in congress can propose solid pro-2a legislation and in our polarized political world the R's will support it all just to piss off the D's, but until I actually see some real action I'm not going to be optimistic. Hopeful, yes. Optimistic, no. Gun owners are too much of a guaranteed voting base for the R's and they know they don't have to placate us.
Everything depends upon execution; having just a vision is no solution.

Performance and performance alone dictates the predator in any food chain.

For what I was trying to communicate, I used the appropriate DEFCON level for my analogy.

I mis-understood, I thought you were saying you were getting close to doing something
